About Me

Hello! We are Stokoz To Moscow, from Deeside in North Wales. We like playing loud, hard and sweaty.
We've gigged with some class acts in our time, including Future Of The Left, Kong, The Automatic, People In Planes, Fei Comodo, Anavris, Dandelion Killers, Spunge, Deaf Havana, Don Broco, Telegraphs, Yashin and more. We've also been fortunate enough to have had an airing on BBC Radio Wales' Adam Walton Show.
If you would like to learn more, take a look at the reviews below.
FLY MAGAZINE - August 'Band of the Month' - Stokoz To Moscow
"Stokoz To Moscow are a brash, energetic 3-piece power rock / punk band from Deeside comprising of Martin Gallagher (guitar/vocals), Ben Griffiths (bass/vocals) and Gareth Jones (drums/vocals). They may all share singing responsibilities but Crosby, Stills and Nash they most certainly aren't (thankfully).
Although they've only been going for a year they've already taken North Wales by storm and built up a huge local following thanks to a series of barnstorming gigs along the coast - they've even got their own street team so you can tell these guys mean business!
As well as sharing vocals live they also share song-writing responsibilities and are influenced by a number of bands including The Foo Fighters, Muse, Faith No More and Godspeed You Black Emperor and Biffy Clyro to name just a few, but manage to write highly original tunes as opposed to simply paying homage to their mentors.
If Stokoz To Moscow come to a town near you just make sure you don't miss them - they're one the the most exciting new live bands currently treading the North Wales boards and I predict very large and successful things ahead for them. Check them out at www.myspace.com/stokoztomoscow" - Gary Cut, Barfly North Wales.
www.wrexhammusic.co.uk Review - Jul 2nd, 2009
"Fresh after a great support slot with Yashin, Stokoz To Moscow are bound to get huge applause from an array of media by the end of the year. Their energetic style can be seen from influences ranging from the Foo Fighters and also Rage Against The Machine" - Danny Whitehead, www.wrexhammusic.co.uk
ArtsInLeicestershire.co.uk - The Shed, Jan, 2009
The Welsh trio had a set that included some angular songs with a raw, aggressive edge and all three shared the vocals. They thumped out some big statements, fast, furious and rugged. Songs fuelled by sweat and adrenaline, albeit counterbalanced by some quieter melodic passages. A bit on the experimental, alternative side at times, resounding, vigorous and full of passion and energy. Sound stuff.

“One struggles to continue to find new superlatives to describe the phenomena that is Stokoz To Moscow...a unique, complex sound...
They describe themselves as “three hairy, sweaty men beating your eardrums, hard”, is I feel an injustice, their set being more akin to a violent exothermic reaction, both visually and audibly.
Yes, with the amount of energy expended under the spotlights, they were more than a little moist by the end of their set, and at least one, has a generous allocation of body hair, but their sound is in no way an assault on the ears.
To the contrary, it is a unique, complex sound that keeps one wondering just how they are able to produce such intricacies whilst maintaining such a furious pace on stage.
The answer to this latter question is answered by observation of the plethora of effects pedals at their disposal, not the largest collection I have seen guitarists use at Pentre, but none have come close to matching the skills in their use, which were on display tonight.
Seven tracks from this trio tonight – Pressurehead, which immediately grabbed your attention 132 Days, I Stayed Away From The Yellow Tablets Today, Big Daddy Wowdy, 3:28, Ode To Sanity and DLC.
Lovely guitar work throughout, wonderful harmonies between Martin and Gareth on 3:28, inspired drumming, underpinned with Ben’s majestic bass riffs, which when coupled with a peerless stage presence, made this truly a set to remember.
With a host of local gigs over the next couple of months, and the imminent release of their new C.D. – a busy time ahead for this engaging trio." - Richard Hibbert, www.panic-promotions.com
Keep an eye out for brand new music coming soon, and more massive gigs that we'll be tearing up along with our Stokoz Army.
