About Me

Thanks to Sally Egans' photographic efforts I just got news from Glen Branch that my painting is going to be on the cover of the National Center for Science Education magazine (NCSE). I've been a member with them ever since I saw Eugenie Scott talk on Darwin's birthday e few years back. NCSE has a constant battle against the Intelligent Design (Creationism w/ Aluminum siding) crowd which is attempting infiltrate our schools with what educated enlightened people call Bad science. Not in Our Classrooms: Why Intelligent Design Is Wrong for our Schools is a must read for those concerned about the corruption of science. It was written by a variety of different people including Rev Barry Lynn of People for the Separation of Church and State, Eugenie Scott and Glen Branch, and six other authors from scientific, political activist, educational and religious backgrounds. She is a talented photographer and reliable.opening @ A shenere Velt Gallery I am in this show. I have 2 pieces included in show, 1. The Other Towers: Screen Print political image of W as a Cave Man denying evolution as his cohorts destroy and plunder everything, and 2. Darwin's Revelation, Oil on copper. Is a depiction of Sable the chimp in the foreground drawing in a magazine w/ an article on Nim Chimpsky (a victim of an experiment to see if she could learn sign language, named after famous linguist, philosopher, political and media critic Noam Chomsky) and Sable again in the background looking into a picture w/ the image of Darwin looking back. The underlying idea of this image is that anthropocentric notions of the world are unenlightened and antiquated, that it's time for us to wake up and that religious belief systems corrupt if not distort reality. It's "Seeing is Believing," not believing is seeing!A Shenere Velt Gallery presents R U Evolved? What do Diamonds, Chocolates and Flowers Have in Common? Compiled from www.democracynow.org by Thomas Stubbs 20071. Diamonds (AKA: Blood Diamonds and/or Conflict Diamonds) are for the most part mined via slave labor under murderous militias with no government. De Beers claims that they sell “conflict free” diamonds but there is difficulty in finding credibility in their claims. The Movie Blood Diamond and Documentary Diamond Life they both reveal the truth vividly.2. Most Chocolate (cocoa) is produced by child slave labor in the Ivory Coast (40%) of Africa. 70% of cocoa over all is produced in West Africa. The children are treated under horrific conditions such as severe beatings being forced to drink urine etc. and sleeping in very small huts with many other children. The US is the biggest consumer of this commodity. It is a billion dollar industry.3. Most Flowers are produced in the Dole Company’s largest flower plantation in Colombia under execrable oppressive conditions. 60% of all flowers sold in the US are from Colombia.4. All Cell Phones contain Coltan Metal which is mined in the Democratic Republic of Congo under conditions worse than Iraq. How can a continent so wealthy in resources be so poor? Who are the scum bags that exploit people and take their resources? I do my best to not buy into anything that harms others. Go purchase goods from Equal Exchange or similar group, avoid industries that treat people like slaves. The only diamonds I have are industrial in nature, I only hope that they were not acquired by murdering and raping others. Gaza is an Israeli concentration camp. Israel is shooting people in a large cage!Body: At this point I’m siding with the Palestinians. You know I always root for the underdog especially the real victims.Read about it! Gideon Levy Don’t accept Zionist propaganda as the truth, it is bullshit, racist and apartheid in nature! The attack on Gaza has killed more Civilians than all the Israelis killed in the past 10 years and all we hear about are Palestinians attacking Israel—It’s the other way around. Gaza is a bigger Concentration camp than Auschwitz! “A country does not win a war if it adopts the values of its enemies!” Noam Chomsky. We need to divest from Israel (AKA Little America) Thomasstubbs.net
