Officially formed in 2007,SILHOUETTE;...the outline of a featureless interior.
SILHOUETTE's sound is constantly changing and they have cited a diverse and wide range of influences; because of this, categorization is difficult.The band's sound has,however,always been rooted in the modern rock/alternative scene,with Incubus being a major influence.
There's also a greater number of influences,which includes genres outside modern rock and alternative.Bands ranging from Glassjaw,Deftones,Circa Survive; eclectic musical styles,a combination in a single work of elements from post-hardcore,indie and experimental.
Innovative,Expressive and Atmospheric.Powerful and Aggressive.Creating a unique dynamic.Its a collage of what this band is all about.The band has also started to incorporate jazz & ambient influences.
The band has also performed in festivals ,charity events and large scale shows.
From opening the first ever series of Confessions and kickstart the Weekend Trip 07/08 Festival at *Scape Lab & *Scape Youth Park respectively and also,various *Scape's shows and clubs.To sharing the stage with some of the local hottest acts for the fund raising of The Deaf & Hard Of Hearing at Loof Bar.
In mid 2008,The band had the honour,opening for one of the most successful homegrown bands,Electrico during their album launch tour at *Scape Youth Park and also voted favourite band by the judges and audience for Baybeats 08 at the Esplanade.
Early 2009,The band released their debut record EP titled "DISCOVER" at *Scape Lab with the help of good friends Abject Poetry,Trella & Caracal.They also kicked off the WeekendTRIP 2009 in March with headliners from the Philippines,Sandwich.
Silhouette is currently back in the studios working on their debut album with reknowed producer and engineer Leonard Soosay (Snakeweed Sound Labs).
About The Ep
In late 2007, the band entered the studio with reknowned producer and engineer,Leonard Soosay (Snakeweed Sound Labs) and began recording their debut record EP DISCOVER, which would see release the following year.
17th Jan 2009,they released their 5 track EP with the help of friends Abject Poetry,Trella and Caracal sharing the stage with them.With a turnout more than what they expected,it was a remarkable night,a memorable one.And also,the EP is just the start.Get ready for a taste of things to come next!
