I am here for Serious Relationships, Friends and Networking

About Me

I spend a lot of time imagining that I'm a successful screenwriter with a gorgeous house and a cute dog. The fact is that I work 9-5 at an educational video company (while doing said daydreaming), then go home and procrastinate instead of writing. I swear, I'm finally writing a script this year after a 1 1/2-year hiatus. And my apartment is nice, but nothing to get too excited about. Also, there's no dog, except for the 18-year-old one living with my parents. I'd get one, but then I'd have to take care of it, and really, I'm too busy procrastinating to take on another responsibility. Procrastinating, and reading really horrifying profiles on Internet dating sites. Shameless plug - my script, KINDRED SPIRITS, was a a finalist in the Set in Philadelphia (SIP) screenwriting competition. It's currently a quarterfinalist in the PAGE International competition.

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

People with similar or different interests for friendship, networking or dating. I like to learn and generally get along with people who enjoy learning and exploring. I have a difficult time getting along with very conservative types. I like to think I'm pretty funny, so you should have a sense of humor, or at least humor me.

My Blog

That’s funny, I’m also in the mood for ice cream.

I believe there's a full moon tomorrow; maybe it's exerting it's influence a day early. I had this unusual exchange on JDate this morning. You'll have to read from the bottom up - it started with...

The road may be bumpy, but I’ve got great shock absorbers.

Yesterday I spent the afternoon at the Museum of Natural History with my best friend, Anne. We went to the show at the planetarium, and stared at the "sky," both of us commiserating that we'd had the ...

The idea problem.

Here's a problem I haven't had before. Or in a while. Too many ideas. Okay, so I have to confess. While my problem is too many ideas, the ideas aren't all mine. Which leads me to a second, bigger prob...

Get out of my way, you! Er...me!

Procrastination, as you may already know, is one of my favorite subjects. Because, unfortunately, I'm all too familiar with it. It pays me regular visits, and stays too long, using up all my favorite ...

Tragedy on the way home.

I feel awful writing such a sad post after a long hiatus. But I had to get this out.Today, on my way home, I witnessed a horrible tragedy. Worse, I wonder whether I could have done anything to help.Dr...

Conquering bumpy projects, creative and otherwise.

I've been planning to post a year-end blog, not really a Christmas letter kind of thing, but more a summary of the people and events that affected me in the past year, in one way or another. But I was...

A sign you’re officially old.

A sign that you're officially old is that there's a tribute show to the band that was most popular during your early high school years.http://www.journeyshow.com/So there it is. I'm old.

Busy week at the Oriental massage parlor.

Maybe it's the spirit of the holidays, maybe it's the need to indulge along with the extra servings of mashed potatoes and pie, or maybe it's just the need for...um...you know. Every year it's the sam...

Weddings as PR

This will be short and sweet (uh, maybe that should be bitter?), but I have to pose the question:Does anyone else think Katherine Heigl timed her wedding to Josh Kelley to coincide with the pre-openin...

Have pride in your balls. (not those, dummy)

Today, when I arrived at my desk, I found a lovely gift. A Starbucks gift card you ask? No. Homemade cookies? No. A glittery holiday card? No. What sat awaiting me was a perfectly round, plastic-seale...
