About Me

I grew up in Eureka, California (on the North Coast) and attended Humboldt State University, where I majored in music. In the early 90's I played steel drums in the Humboldt Calypso band for four years under the direction of Eugene Novotney, and I also played drums in the rock band "The Unseen" with my buddies Jeff Sellars and Kevin Porter, and in other various groups. I moved to Portland, Oregon in 1996 and have been freelancing as a drummer ever since. Some of the groups/people I've played with since then include the Russ Finley Band, the Terry Robb Band, the Paul deLay Trio, Big Monti, the Renato Caranto Quartet, the Porkpie Septet, the Ben Fowler Quintet, the St James/Woods Nonet, Ez Weiss's Blues Connotation, the Geno Michaels Band, Johnny Martin, Sandy Dennison, Lori Bouck and the Interpreters, the Rainbirds, EZ Eddy and the Jumpers, the Lloyd Jones band, Franck Goldwasser, and Bill Rhoades and the Party Kings. I also did a gig once with Hans's Oompah Band, but that's probably too minor to mention on this resume.
