XXX SUBLIMATOR

Look, the thing is that to be good rock ..n roll doesn’t have to be strikingly original. That’s what’s so great about it, as long as it punches all of the right buttons and gets your foot tapping and your head nodding…hey, that’ll do just fine! When something that is original comes along, though, something that dares to be different and is able to stop you in your tracks and demand your attention, well that just makes a great thing a whole lot better….. Canadian outfit XXX Sublimator tick all of the required boxes, being a mix of experience, innovation and pure audacity that smacks you hard and leaves you pondering the question of when you last heard something so in your face and unapologetically brazen. It won’t have been for a long time, I can assure you. You may never have heard anything quite like it at all…. With a pedigree that takes in multi platinum progressive act Saga, countless sessions – including some with members of Kiss! – and a guitarist who once plied his trade with Jazz demi-God Charles Mingus..s ex drummer…well, what would you expect this band to come up with? As the old adage goes, expect the unexpected. And so it is… Jim Gilmour is a household name in progressive circles due to his time with the seminal Canadian act Saga, having sold an astonishing 8.000.000 albums during his time with the band. His musical dexterity lends XXX Sublimator the foundation from which they can launch their aural assault. Strat Andriotis is an accomplished and versatile guitarist with a couple of independent solo albums to his name and a resume that takes in hard rock, punk and experimental music. His playing adds the sting to the XXX Sublimator sound. Drummer Roger Banks acts as the anchor to the maelstrom that wages around him and he ably supplies the backbone the band needs to be able to head off into uncharted territory. This band has created a sound unlike any other band in the world today, with live performances leaving audiences open mouthed in amazement. Every once in a while a band comes along that is totally right for the here and now. A band that gleefully heads off into new musical vitas with a glint in its eye and a devil-may-care attitude that always makes for exciting rock ..n roll XXX Sublimator are one such band….
