MAIN INFLUENCE: Richie SamboraMike Marchetta is a classically trained guitarist who studied at Wagner College. Mike was picked up in the mid early 90’s by Blackwood and Foti an acoustic rock act and worked along side Al Pitrelli (Alice Cooper). Blackwood and Foti played all over the world and had a song receive national airplay. From there he went on to start “Nevermind†a Nirvana tribute band. Mike sang and played guitar for Nevermind all over the tri-state area. From there he went on to become the front man for Sunblister (now called Simantik), a hard alternative NYC Rock Band, which has played in such venues as Webster Hall, The China Club, Le Bar Bat, CBGCB’s, Apple Rock Festival, Battle of the Bands, Albany College, and dozens of NYC nightclubs and toured the USA as well. Simantik had put out 2 albums of material and has songs listed in the music archive for use with commercials, movies, and television shows and has songs listed on many of the top compilation cd’s. After Simantik, Mike went on to be a session player, playing and recording for hire on as needed basis sitting in on over 100 songs of recorded material and live performances. Mike is currently working on a classical album which will consist of 12 arrangements and hopes to have them featured on children shows and cd’s.
