About Me

This was Jon's eulogy writen to commemorate his life.Today we gather to celebrate and pay respect to a man name Jon Nobuyuki Tanji. Jon Nobuyuki Tanji was born in Garden Grove, California on August 30, 1983 to his loving parents Gene and Hisako Tanji. At an early age Jon and his parents Gene and Hisako resided in Anaheim , California. While residing in Anaheim Jon attended Hansen Elementry School, Orangeview Jr High, and onto Western High School where he graduated in the year 2001. He spent most of his early childhood spending time with his family and friends playing hockey and going on fishing trips. In Jr High Jon also took up RC Cars, that led well into his late teens, eventually leading to his love for real cars.As a young adult Jon became intrigued and fascinated with the import industry. This led to him purchasing his first car an Acura Integra, where he spent most of his time devoted to learning the ins and outs of the car. What started out as a hobby turned out to be something that he dedicated a major part of his life too. With the help of his friends and his own natural talent Jon was able to excel and exceed beyond the typical import enthusiast. Jon started out by working on his own Integra, and that led to him working on his friends car one by one. When Jon had realized that this was a part of his life the he truly enjoyed doing, and knowing that it came naturally, Jon founded DOHC Garage. DOHC Garage was Jon's most successful venture yet, there in his garage he built numerus amounts of cars as well as several well known cover cars. This year Jon had two goals: one was to build his first World Challenge car; and the second was to move DOHC from his garage to an actual shop, that was due to open sometime this November. Sadly, this will not happen.Jon spent his 22 years of life living it to the fullest. Never holding back and never fearing anything. His free spirit kept him level and he touched the lives of many. To be in Jon's presence was a blessing for anyone. Jon was such an enchanting and beautiful person. Jon was a loving son, his parents Gene and Hisako was first on his list. Jon would do anything for them. Jon was also a great friend to anyone, he had such a gab for tending to the needs of others and putting himself last. Jon was always ready to lend an ear, a shoulder to cry on, or a helping hand to a friend in need.Sadly on November 6, 2005 this miracle that the heavens above name Jon Nobuyuki Tanji, was taken from us.Jon is survived by his parents Gene and Hisako Tanji, grandon of Paul Tanji and Fumie Kanemori, nephew of Chester May Tanji, Jane Fumi Tanji, Sharon Michi Reckers, and Rose Yuko Matsumura, and also by many other relatives here and in Hawaii.Jon was a fallen rider, however he will he will never be forgotten, he will ride forever in our hearts. His legend will live on, and his love will forever be remembered. Jon's presence will always be with us. Jon passed away a happy man, may he rest in peace.written by: carolyn d.

I'd like to meet:

Do not stand at my grave and weep. I am not there. I do not sleep. I am a thousand winds that blow. I am the diamond glints on snow. I am the sunlight on ripened grain. I am the gentle autumn’s rain. When you awaken in The morning’s hush. I am the swift uplifting rush. Of quiet birds in circled flight. I am the soft stars that shine at night. Do not stand at my grave and cry. I am not there, I did not die.-Anonymous
