Joie de Vivre

About Me

Joie de Vivre: A Meditation on New Orleans, Katrina and the U.S. is a multimedia evening of music, visual art and performance hosted by Quennect4, 2716 W. North Avenue, Chicago on Saturday, September 8, 2007 from 7pm-2am . Presented by Striding Lion InterArts Workshop, Joie de Vivre is conceived and curated by company member Michelle Mashon, a New Orleans native living in Chicago who was inspired to produce an event that would create a space for dialogue and act as a celebration of the spirit of New Orleans in Chicago. Suggested donation is $15, $12 for students and seniors. Entry includes New Orleans inspired refreshments, all performances and a GUMBO COOKING DEMO & DISCUSSION at 7pm by New Orleans chef Matthew Mashon. All works in the exhibition are for sale, with 100% of sales going to the artists.
