I'm Laurie and I have enjoyed playing guitar for 8 years now.
I have always been around bands or in them for pretty much my entire life.
However, all the bands I have had the pleasure of being in, I have played bass guitar for.
I compose the majority of my songs on my one lifeline. My acoustic guitar which is a Yamaha Compass Series CPX5TMP acoustic guitar. For all you guitar fanatics out there, and to be honest, out of all the acoustic guitars I have played, it's been one of the best acoustics I've ever used for tone and quality.
I am what people call an average girl from a standard school that lives in a tiny village and wont stop playing guitar until the blisters on my hands burst and make my fingers bleed. (Because I wouldn't want to get my guitar dirty now do I)?
I love life, and I live music, and that passion has existed since the day I left the womb. Music has been one of the only things that has considerably stayed the same in my life, and for being given such a gift, I'll cherish it till the day I die.
But on to the more serious side of this biography;
I believe that music isn't just about what exactly the lyrics are about or how well you can play an instrument, it is also about the many incredible people you get to meet and how they help you throughout your journeys no matter how big or small it is. Every improvement matters. But so does every criticism. Because if you're blind to criticism your music will never improve.
All of the songs I compose reflect on the way I feel and the personal experiences I have been through. Emotion does not always have to be expressed just through the simplicity of lyrics, it can be expressed through so much more. I chose music. Especially in the way the guitar in my music is played. My guitar has it's own voice, it's a bit like a person actually. Except from the person will respond to your every move.

'On My Own' is dedicated to my Grandad who sadly passed away back in 2007. He had written the lyrics and gave them to me whilst his health was rapidly deteriorating, so that I could write a song to them. His dream was always to have his lyrics featured in one of my songs and those specific lyrics had captured my imagination. I didn't change the lyrics at all. Because at the end of the day, 'On My Own' is my Grandad's son and always will be. Fortunatly I was able to show him this song before he passed away, and I would just like to say that he was thrilled that I had wrote a song for him, he loved it.
I would like to say thank you to Adam Oakley who thoughtfully offered to take a lot of time out to record 'Miss Jealousy' for me. He also mastered it too and got it to how it's sounding today. So thank you Adam :) x
