Lesbian Comments I'm a 47, part Cherokee, German-Irish mix, more butch than femme, but not quite stone. Wouldn't be caught dead in a dress, and yet I love flowers and gardening. I'm a Gemini I'm always a lil of both! I don't go to bars anymore. The idea of watching drunks pretend they are having a good time bores me to tears. I like small get togethers, like cook outs or dinners. I'm easy going, laid back most of the time, I live alone, in a house that's paid for, on my own property in a rural area of east Tennessee. Outside of the occasional gunfire and the coyotes howling, it's fairly peaceful and quiet. In the spring time with redbud's and dogwoods in bloom it is glorious! I have 2 outside cats (lost one to the coyotes) and 1 very hyper & psychotic blue heeler ( KALI ) that tries to attack every thing in her path. (But I love her anyway even though she's "Special" *
After a while...
After a while you learnthe subtle difference between
holding a hand and chaining a soul
and you learn that love doesn't mean possession
and company doesn't mean security.
And you begin to learn that kisses aren't contracts
and presents aren't promises
and you begin to accept your defeats
with your head up and your eyes ahead
with the grace of an adult not the grief of a child.
And you learn to build your roads today
because tomorrows ground is too uncertain for plans
and futures have ways of falling down in mid-flight.
After a while you learn that even sunshine burns
if you get too much
so you plant your own garden
and decorate your own soul
instead of waiting for someone to bring you flowers.
And you learn that you really can endure
that you really are strong
and you really do have worth
and you learn and you learn...
with every goodbye, you learn
