About Me
Blood Ov Thee Christ is one of the first nihilistic, nasty & filthy power electronics acts to emerge from Sweden. Founded in 1983, BOTC are still active after more than 20 years of spreading fear across sweden.

ACROSS THE DECADES OF IGNORANCE
This might be the most relevant reissue ever. Yes. I kid you not.
But shame on me: I was responsible for its initial release as a c-60 twenty years ago on my shoebox tape label Lilit, not the best means of distribution. This one had no future in my hands, it was destined to obscurity along with the rest of my catalogue - all in all 13 titles between 1985 and 1988. =Master Control.. was the 5th in the series, and listening to it now scares the shit out of me just as it did back then. Or perhaps more, because now it seems as if it is even more relevant. Blood Ov Thee Christ was Harri Honkaniemi..s project, and in a time and place (Sweden mid 80..s) when =industrial=, or as some would rather put it, =experimental electr.... music was more or less a novelty act - funny cut-up tapes and vaudeville fascism was high on the agenda: any sign of sincerity was frowned upon, and =serious= was a word as taboo as =artist= this one cut like a very sharp razorblade,it might be hard to imagine now, but the general influence on people operating in this field at the time seemed to be Monty Pyton rather than Throbbing Gristle: Weird, but true. Such was the disease of the mid 80..s industrial scene in Sweden.
Except for one troubled individual, determined to go all the way at all costs in order to exorcise (or maybe rather, exercise) his demons. And these were REAL demons, dealt with in a very real manner. "Master Control was meant to hurt, and it did. It still does. Now 20 years later it comes across as a work of true and deeply original vision. Even better than the first time. Obviously it takes its departure from the Iphar / Whitehouse / Broken Flag-tradition, but rapidly takes a weird turn and ends up somewhere else; at the very edge of a completely unknown territory. The unspeakable mad landscapes of HP Lovecraft seems to be one point of reference, snuffmovies by Brazilian deathsquads another. And plenty of attitude in between. Sure, it’s the work of a mad man, but it’s also the work of a stunningly apocalyptic genius; it will likely blow your mind as it did mine. This is extremely powerful stuff. I never quite recovered from this one."
The original tape was a c-46 given to me one drunken night in the backwoods by Harri himself. There were no copies. There was no info written on it: He..d recorded it, but did..nt seem to care too much about it. Listening to it was like seeing God in all his splendid mad cruelty. It had to see some form of distribution, so in order to make it a c-60 i asked him for additional material, which arrived in the form of the two tracks =Pain & Pleasure=, and =Excesse= the original tape now referred to as =Master C..... All these titles were nicked from hardcore S&M-movies from his shelves. There..s a good story behind the =Excesse= track, but i..m not telling you, coz it..s none of your business. Nor mine. Basically, we could all just piss off, none of us will ever get close to create anything even remotely similar to this, ever. This is the shit, and it never made more sense than it does now; if you dont..t appreciate it, go live with the other subhumans and don..t waste your time here. Time is that which ends.
