She says brief things...

About Me

LE MAXI 4-TITRES "THE BEAUTY OF THE PITS" EST A PRESENT DISPONIBLE! J'espère que ça vous plaira.THE 4-TRACKS EP "THE BEAUTY OF THE PITS" IS NOW RELEASED! You may check it out at: http://www.myspace.com/morewhalefinAnd now the story:Whalefin was created in 2003. After a surge of many new songs I decided to push the project as far as I possibly could. The songs where recorded (and developped) in the Silvia Music Studio in Sofia, Bulgaria, from October 2004 to August 2006. Then "The Mysterious Barricades" album, which I had been dreaming of for a long time, was completed. While recording, new songs came, which lead to new recordings, and eventually to the said EP, "The Beauty of The Pits", which contains acoustic songs. I mean, just voices and my faithfull (to say the least) 12-strings.The chef-d'oeuvre of my life will be released when the artworks are finished...not too far away I hope. Well of course there are so many issues involved in the process. As usual. And the story goes on and on: things happened, turned out well or wrong (depending on the point of view I guess), and a third record is under construction, and I daresay, it's not too far from achievement; it's supposed to be called "Brief Things"... So we might expect something else, hopefully quite soon, don't we? Hope you'll like it.By the way: I edited my profile with Thomas' Myspace Editor V4.4

My Interests

Music:

Band Website: Under construction...
Band Members: David Zurawski - Voices, Guitars (mainly 12-strings), Basses, Saxophones, Noises, Programming and stuff.Additional musicians on "The Mysterious Barricades": Damien Saint-James played the drums, and Lili Toncheva took care of all the witchcraft. You can also hear some members of Sofia Pop Symphony - Galina Koytcheva, Irina Dimitrova, Kalina Velinova, Ognyan Valchev, Milush Pironski, Rossen Kazandjiev, Diana Koleva, Maria Madoleva, conducted by Christo Pavlov, on violins. With a very special and heartful thanks to Lili whose unbelievable patience and skills kept the whole thing together.I'm currently looking for a doublebass player and a drummer who likes the brushes. Anyone interested?
Influences: Lots of songs, books, films and other things either played, written, painted or made by Grant Lee Buffalo, Jeff Buckley, Radiohead, Interpol, The Cure, Cocteau Twins, Paul Auster, Haruki Murakami, Morphine, Nick Drake, Edvard Munch, Cat Power, Ani DiFranco, Enki Bilal, Gustav Klimt, David Lynch, Portishead, Massive Attack, Stanley Kubrick, Julio Cortazar, Michael Manring, Steve Vai, Jean Paul Sartres, Salvador Dali, Jen Gloeckner, P.J. Harvey, Sparklehorse, Miles Davis, Jonathan Barré, Jonas Hellborg, The Pixies, Macha, The Doors, and many many others...I also found that instruments are of a great influence: that's partly why i'm collecting guitars. Maybe they have a soul, maybe not (I'd rather think so); anyway some of the songs would never have existed but for the guitar they are played on. Strangely enough.
Sounds Like: What would you say?
Record Label: unsigned...yet.
Type of Label: None
