I am an Australian, predominantly self-taught pianist/ guitarist. The seed of creation was unleashed within during my early teens.
The whole structure of music & composition innately makes sense to me. A natural, cathartic process that has relentlessly encapsulated my life ever since I wrote my first song. It is one of the contributing factors of my incessant insomnia; ask any artist, the early hours of the morning between 12.00 & 4.00am are a creatively rewarding, spiritual time.
For most of my teens I would write at least a song a day; my muse just wouldn't leave me alone! I couldn't ignore the voice in my head & had to write whenever inspiration struck. To quote Elvis: "without a song the day will never end, without a song the road will never bend, without a song a man ain't got a friend, so I keep singing the song!" Now quantity has "left the building" in favour of quality.
I've been told my songs are accessibly commercial though also largely void of influence, from the objective praise I've received from industry peers. I probably best categorise them as structured/ textural pop with lyrical substance. I do have the essential moments of levity & enjoy taking the listener on a journey.
I have performed live. Vocally I can hold a tune & certain songs really suit my style of voice. My expertise lies in composition. That's why I'm seeking a genuine vocalist who can do justice to my songs. Even though they contain a lot of substance musically, the lyrics bring them to life.
I'd like to initially form a duo, then expand for live work & recording.
Several years ago I won a nationwide jingle competition. My original composition was played nationally/ internationally on television, aired by channel 7. I would like to further pursue the use of my music in film & advertising.
I've just completed a modelling assignment which resulted in an appearance at a major annual lifestyle event, visited by thousands each year & another performance at Chasers Nightclub in Chapel St, South Yarra. (SEE PICS IN SLIDESHOW)
