Carol's first gig was at age five on the piano at church. At age twelve, she taught herself to play rhythm guitar and joined her first band two years later. She quit piano her second year in college when she began studying classical guitar at TCU and subbing in with friends' college bands. After college, she lived in garage band hell, playing parties, receptions and dives with various local rock bands. It was during this time she first picked up the bass guitar and fell in love.
Carol took a hiatus from playing with bands to raise a family. Once the kids were old enough to fix their own sandwiches, she got back in, returning briefly to rhythm guitar before sliding back over to bass. Her recent endeavors include playing with The Easy Street Band, and members of Clear Fork Jazz.
She currently plays with the classic rock cover band, Elixir and recently rejoined her former band mates, Church Chicks. She'll be filling in with Southern Heritage Band summer '09 while Elixir finishes up their studio work and takes some time for vacations. Give the girl a Sonic cherry-vanilla coke and she'll jam with just about anyone!
Carol gigs with a Yamaha TRB1004 into a dbx 166XL and out through a Fender Bassman 250.
Life is good.
