Frank*N
The Frankfurt born artist lived through more than 3 decades of underground music. Frank, who holds a university degree in South East Asian Sciences and has a classical music education, travelled innumerable times through Asia, Europe and Africa, always carrying his guitar, obsessed with collecting and absorbing cultures, sounds and styles and spreading love, peace and enervating hippy tunes wherever he went. In the 70ies and 80ies he lived and worked in Bali, India, Singapore und Ibiza.
In the 90ies (after a dramatic haircut) Frank worked as a Marketing- and Sales Manager for an Asian Airline for several years and just because the job was not stressy enough he co-founded the Off-Art gallery projects -Die Tanke- and -Galerie 7-(G7) in Frankfurt.
At the many Art-Partys which his better half Ingrid promoted together with him he became deeply involved with the emerging electronic music scene in Germany.
Several mindexpanding selftherapies and a boozed New Years resolution at the beginning of the new millenium later, Frank finally decided to kiss his bourgeois career good bye and started to dj professionally.
Since many years Frank now collects all facettes of new and traditional Asian music and electronic clubmusik and spins Ambient, Balearic and Psychedelic Chill-Out and funky Downtempo as well as House- and Trancemusic on chill- and dancefloors of countless partys, clubs, events and festivals.
He djayed for popular -HR-XXL Chill Out-, -YOU-FM Lounge- and -Big City Beats- radio broadcasts and is responsible for the choice of sounds and art exhibitions in his partners gallery-restaurant Eat-n-Art.
Since 2005 he plays regularly in Sven Väths Cocoonclub in Frankfurt.
Releases
In 2006 Frank teamed up with Germany..s Trance-legend Jam El Mar to produce the downtempo-longplayer -ON CLOUD 9- (coming up on Wakyo in june 08) under project name Jam*N.
First tracks appeared on Platipus Records (-The Art of Chill III-) and ZYX (-Kaffeehaus-Lounge V-), look out for more to come shortly. He compiled a dj-mix for Cocoonclubs first chill compilation -Silk Pearls- (Cocoon Records 06).
-Silk Pearls 2-with another Frank*N mix (and a new Jam*N track) will be released early 2008.
DJ-style
Franks DJ-sets fuse everything from electronic meditation music, Dub, Psybreaks, Hip Hop, Rootsraggae, Bollywood, 60ies & 70ies, Psychedelic, Lounge, Gamelan and covers to classical Indian music into a unique world – fusion listening experience: Zen Dubs.
(Note: he can as well serve you nicely with a neatly groomed Ibiza – style lounge set if the money is o.k. and the champagne is cold enough.) (Note 2: a good sparkling will be fine too…)
On the dancefloor you will get Electrohouse- and Progressive sounds, but Frank has a weak spot for funky melodic Psytrance too.
