AN AWARD AWAITS!DISCOGRAPHY:
In the beginning, the early doors, we gave away a lot of Cassettes and CDr's to people to help us get live performances, or to mention us in their fanzines - and just to friends and associates who held an interest in our work. Some of these Cassettes/CDr's had titles, some even had catalogue numbers - to make us seem more professional at the time. We do not regard these as official DIETER MUH releases. The 1st release was the CD "BLACK SQUARE" in June 1997. Colin Potter was one of the dozen people to see our first live performance in York (1994), and invited us to his ICR Studios in North Yorkshire to record an album. The result being "BLACK SQUARE" released in June 1997. We chose to put the CD out on the CARNIFEX RECORDINGS label. A label that the three of us were involved in back in the mid 1980's. This is the only DIETER MUH release to feature TIM BAYES. Tim left shortly after the release to live in Perth, Australia. Packaging was designed by Dave, and limited to 500 Copies. Catalogue:CRoMuH03. The second release came two years later in April 1999. Limited to 15 copies only, "FEELING A LITTLE HORSE" is a document of the performance at Nottingham Old Vic in 1998. In the audience that night was Mick McDaid of Outsider Records, he was impressed enough to create a CDr label called MOUTH RECORDINGS to release the recordings. He also put out a limited CDr of the set by Government Alpha recorded on the same night. Catalogue:MoUtH'0'. It was at this gig that Dieter Muh met Yasutoshi of Govt. Alpha / XERXES. He offered Dieter Muh a cassette release the result being "THE BJORN TAPES" released in April 1999. Catalogue:ES-27. "THE BJORN TAPES" was our own "Heathen Earth".....recorded live in the studio in Nottingham one evening in front of an invited audience (2 cats)....then remixed by Dave over the next 2 months. Through 1998 and 1999 Dieter Muh got friendly with Eriek & Sven from Belgian based label EE TAPES. With 2 appearances on the "Notre Dame" + "Ambient Intamacy" compilation projects, and an appearance at the 11th Festival for Independent Arts and Music in Sint-Niklaas, Belgium (which was released on video). After Eriek & Sven travelled to London to see a Muh performance at The Red Rose they offered a full CDr release. Throughout 1999 Dieter Muh recorded "CARI SALUTI". A compilation of live recordings from the performance at Nottingham Bunkers Hill, out-takes from the BJORN TAPES session, solo pieces, recordings from the London Underground and "FOR PETE'S SAKE", a rhythm that came out of nowhere whilst performing live with a "hate" message left on Dave's ansaphone! The CDr was released in June 2000. Catalogue ET 69. In March 2002 FUNCTIONAL the side label of TESCO ORG re-released the album on CD format with new packaging. Catalogue:Func.014. In September 2001 a performance of "CARI SALUTI" recorded at the Seurojentalo in Mantsala Finland was released as part of a 2xCDr box set by KAOS KONTROL. Catalogue:k..k 008. The "follow up" to CARI SALUTI was not meant to happen! in 1998 we got an invite from a French magazine called "TAAT" to release a C60 cassette. We obliged with rudimentry studio recordings. Work In Progress. A large portion of our live performance in Belgium that year. After the "master tape" was sent Taat vanished from the face of the earth, then in August 2002 NANINANI CORPS a label set up by Jose of TAAT released the recordings on CDr. Limited to 101 copies and including a remix by French musician Cedric Lerouley. The album was called "EPONYMOUS". Dieter Muh had no control over artwork or say in the remix. Catalogue:N/Rec 001. The true "follow up" and progression from "CARI SALUTI" was the release "WE'RE NOT HAPPY.....'TIL YOU'RE NOT HAPPY". April 2003. A track inspired by 2 television documentries on pornography. One where the subject matter was bored (UK) housewives, and the other on the works of Max Hardcore. We were invited by German label DARKNESS PRODUCTIONS to contribute to thier POETRY AND VIOLENCE 7" series, and thought "WE'RE NOT HAPPY" to be the ideal track. The B-Side is a studio recording of a track we first performed at the Fylkingen in Stockholm in 2001. Sampling South Sea rhythms; we originally called the track "S.S.ACTION SONG". We thought this title inappropriate for a German label, so the title became "LIKE IT NEVER HAPPENED". Sleeve artwork is by Dave Uden. Catalogue:P+V016. August 2003 saw us release 2 albums. Firstly the live cassette "DOIN' IT DRESDEN STYLE" on Helsinki label HYSTER TAPES. This is a label run by the great Finnish band GREY PARK. It is a straight recording from the AZ CONNI 2000 performance in Dresden, Germany. HYSTER TAPES releases are all on recycled cassettes. The release was limited to 50 copies with artwork by Heikki Lintula. Catalogue:Hyster 02. The title comes from our love of Slaughter & The Dogs and Swell Maps. (And was irresistable). The same month saw the release of "TERTIUM ORGANUM", the first vinyl LP by Dieter Muh. Released by TESCO ORG. An album of studio recordings all remixed and mastered by Dave Uden. Sleeve artwork by Australian artist BARRY WILLIAM HALE. Catalogue:TESCO 056. In 2004, BLADE RECORDS of Italy re-released "THE BJORN TAPES" on CDr. A mistake. Poorly packaged...but there you go.....Also the live in Sweden LP "STOCKHOLM MONSTERS" was released. Packaged like a bootleg LP, the album may or may not have had something to do with Steve Underwood of HARBINGER SOUND. The LP is a straight forward release of the Fylkingen, Stockholm performance in 2001. March 2008 saw the release of "AAKaL" 7"EP on Harbinger Sound. Catalogue: HARBINGER 031. Unique as it is the first recording of 2 solo sides, recorded in 2001 / 2002 in Exeter and Nottingham. Sleeve artwork by Dave Uden, and in Camouflage Vinyl. In August 2008 we released the collaboration CD "ATOMYRIADES" on the Tasmanian label CIPHER PRODUCTIONS. Catalogue number (sic49). We have been attempting to record with MNEM (the Finnish electronic duo) for about 5 years, but with no fruit. Chris Groves of CIPHER heard about the possible collaboration and offered us a CD release. The CD was released in Digipack format with full colour design by David Uden.
November 23rd, 2008 we released the LP "The Call" on our new imprint HAEMOCCULT RECORDINGS. This is the collaboration recordings with occult author Lon Milo DuQuette coupled with the piece "Sutreworde". The LP is on heavy duty white vinyl and limited to 230 copies.
I've missed out some compilation releases. The 1999 CDr "HALOGEN BALL" that was released by Finnish label NEGATIVE FOUNDATION. The track on this release; "WELL THUMBED" is a 15 minute collage of Cammack / Uden recordings from 1983 - 1998. In October 2003 we appeared on the CD compilation "THE WALLS ARE WHISPERING" for EE TAPES. In 2006 we were invited by THE NEW BLOCKADERS to submit a recording for their "VIVA NEGATIVA"! 8 album box set project released by VINYL-ON-DEMAND. Using a sample from the track "LE COUPERET" we submitted HOHL". Mainly recorded in Munich train station in 2003. Catalogue:VOD 24.
