About Me

With the proliferation of Long Island bands and musicians that affix to the core, indie, and emo labels, PRAETORIAN remain one of the few bands that crusade beyond the black hole of musical regression and stick true to their original roots of symphonic, progressive, and extreme metal. Reformed from the ashes of three local metal bands in the summer of 2008, Max (guitar), Eddie (bass), and Dana (keys) remained the only constant members until the first full lineup was settled with Mike (drums), Frank (vocals) and Charlie (guitar) joining in December 2008. A month later, the band released the ‘Fallacy’ single and set their sights on playing live.
Never content settling with the typical stereotypes and conformities of heavy metal, Praetorian's music combines death, black, progressive, symphonic, folk, and dark/ambient elements with brutal and beautiful guitar and keyboard melodies, intense drum and bass playing and a wide variety of vocal ranges to deliver a pure aural assault on your eardrums.
The band is currently composing and planning the release of the first testament in the PRAETORIAN scripture while seeking new members to round out the lineup.
