About Me

The frontman and creative force behind Perth band The Woodenelves, singer/songwriter/guitarist Travis Caudle, is a polished solo artist with a constantly-evolving repertoire of catchy self-penned rock/pop tracks.Having played hundreds of gigs in his professional musical career, Caudle is at his best behind the microphone. His live performances feature stripped-back versions of tracks off The Woodenelves’ debut album Trips Between Worlds, as well as fresh tunes he’s adding to the collection.Trips Between Worlds was recorded with producer (and the drummer of acclaimed Australian band The Church) Tim Powles at Spacejunk Production House in Sydney and two tracks off the album won Caudle two awards at the 2006 Australian Songwriters Association’s National Songwriting Contest. Shortly after, his songwriting talents were recognised by publisher Fogsongs in Sydney who went on to sign him to a worldwide deal. His music is also being pitched to film and TV in the US after catching the attention of LA-based outfit Undercover Tracks.Trips Between Worlds, released in May 2007, is Caudle’s second album. In 2002, the Perth-born artist released his solo acoustic CD, Bareboy, which was laid down in his home town.Caudle first picked up a guitar at the age of 15, but had been heavily exposed to music throughout his earliest years, attending a Neil Diamond concert while just a toddler. As an 18-year-old, he began busking in Perth and later moved to Broome where he kick-started his musical career with several successful residencies before heading back to the city and playing at venues including The Windsor, Paddy Hannan’s, The Stamford Arms & The Paddington Ale House. The Woodenelves have been receiving airplay on commercial and community stations across Australia and are soon to head to Canadian Music Week (March 2008), as well as embark on their first national tour.Caudle and The Woodenelves have supported: Hinder (US) / British India (J Award nominees) / Tim Rogers (You Am I) / Jimmy Barnes / Sarah McLeod (formerly of Superjesus) / Ash Naylor (Even) / Hugh Cornwell (formerly of The Stranglers) / The Inches (Melbourne) / Borne (Melbourne). In 2008, they will support US band The Black Crowes at Challenge Stadium. A new local release with worldwide scope. These heartfelt songs rise from simple, catchy beginnings until they are soaring, stadium worthy epics. Catchy, heartfelt and engaging, this album is professionally produced and well deserving of a listen. Travis Caudle and Jonathon Tiedtke invite you into their world and if you take the trip, you'll be surprised where it'll take you. -78 records
