Scott met Mark when he was working for the county's library system when he got out of college. A year or two later, he mentioned that he had written some songs with another friend, Kevin, and asked for help recording them. The three of them got together in Scott's bedroom, with an organ & two synthesizers playing through a small guitar amp, and recorded two songs on Mark's boombox, Birthday Blue (I Cried For You) and Working For The New Police State. They later moved to the basement, and wrote & recorded a bunch of other material.Over the years, they managed to stay in contact (& keep writing songs), and have found that the internet is a great tool for enabling them to collaborate without regard to the distance between them. They finished a four-song EP, Vale Of Tears, in January of 2004; the songs currently on this site are those four, plus a few others that have been recorded recently. The old songs will eventually be re-recorded, but currently in the works is a full-length cd of mostly newer compositions.

My Interests

Music:

Band Website: soundclick.com/darkvictory
Band Members: ***SCOTT BARTON (composer/keyboards/vocals/rhythm & bass guitar/programming)***KEVIN DALLAS (composer/lead & backing vocals/keyboards)***MARK YANKO (composer/lyrics/art, vision and guidance)
Influences: All of us have a LOT of divergent influences in rock, pop, r&b, jazz fusion, prog, reggae, folk and blues. Too many to mention here.
Sounds Like: We've been compared to a lot of bands. I'd say it's sort of like what would happen if Seal joined Pink Floyd with Genesis and a bit of Deep Purple, R.E.M. and Nein Lives thrown in for good measure!
