Bad Town Wreckords was established on September 11th, 2006 by Phill & Jess, with ongoing help from their friend Peter (Filthy). Having been in the local scene in Las Vegas for awhile & becoming increasing aggravated with the lack of unity among bands & promoters they decided to take matters into their own hands.
What we at Bad Town wanted to do was help everyone see that Las Vegas really do have a punk/rockabilly scene with bands that are actually worth listening too. We wanted others to know that our town is not only a club hopping, cover band, gambling town. The world from the Strip & the locals is really very different. Bands were constantly competing & butting heads while venues & promoters continued to use them to help bring in small crowds of drinkers. We wanted to help form a relationship between bands, promoters, & venues where everyone gets paid, gets exposure & has an overall good time doing it.
Bad Town quickly got a good following with bands like ZEROFINGERS & Billy’s Kid in Vegas & The Penetrators in Cali which led to the adding of Jazz Bender in Vegas & Henry in Cali to the Bad Town family. Now with our family growing to California we were able to start finding & booking good Cali bands in Las Vegas with our first very successful show on New Years Eve at Dino’s. Not long after that Bad Town booked bands like Time Again & Static Thought from Hellcat Records & Rory Justice & Crash Justice from California, & The Quakes with great turnouts at places like The Dive Bar, Dino’s, Rox, Bunkhouse Saloon, Double Down Saloon, Sin City Saloon & Bugsy’s Rock Room. With huge success in the booking department it was time to expand.
On July 14th, 2007 Bad Town Wreckords announced the opening of Bad Town Studios. Now Bad Town Wreckords could focus on the recording & distribution of the bands that they’ve built such great relationships with.[LOVEMYFLASH]
