I am a music educator and bassist, and a native of New Orleans but now reside in Atlanta, GA. Over the years I have performed internationally with many diverse acts such as Grammy nominated jazz vocalist - Nnenna Freelon, the Glenn Miller Orchestra, the Mamas and the Papas, Allen Toussaint, Pete Fountain, and Luther Kent and Trickbag. I, finally, released my first CD of original jazz compositions as a leader, "Swing First, Think Later." I continue to be active in the Atlanta jazz and commercial music community. I am a past director of the Atlanta All-Star Grammy Jazz Band, which was a high school ensemble sponsored by the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences. I have served as the President of the Georgia Association of Jazz Educators from 1997 - 1999. In 1996, the Taylor Road M.S. Jazz Ensemble, under my direction, performed at the International Association of Jazz Educators Conference. In 2002, while Performing Arts Department Chair and Orchestra Director, North Springs High School was named a “National Grammy Signature School.†In 2004 and 2008, the Northview High School Chamber Orchestra, under my direction was/is a featured performer for the Georgia Music Educators Association In-Service Conference in Savannah, GA. The Northview ensemble has also performed at the Midwest International Band and Orchestra Clinic in Chicago in December of 2004. In 2006, the Northview Chamber Orchestra represented the State of Georgia in Austria and the Czech Republic for "Mozart: 2006" - a 250th Celebration . I have served as adjunct faculty at Loyola University of New Orleans and Georgia State University. I am presently serving as the director of orchestras at Northview High School and chairman of their Fine Arts Department. I also serve as string coordinator at North Georgia College and State University in an adjunct capacity.
