Formed in April of 2007, ‘The Methods,’ as they’re more widely known to their fans, were drawn together by a love of music and snowboarding. Using a name derived from the snowboarding trick, the Colorado based group began playing to world class athletes, tourists, ski bums, gnarly shredders, hipsters, slizzes, meth heads and confused drunk weirdos that accidently wandered in to various shows. Funk-driven Rock, melodic hip-hop and blue reggae united together to keep anyone rocking. MTHDS effortlessly defy traditional categorization with enough pop to be catchy and enough grit to be edgy. One thing is for certain: everyone leaving a Methods show is covered in sweat, hollerin at chicks and wondering where MTHDS will play next. Guitarist Johnny Schleper and drummer Dustin ‘Durtee’ Zentz bring a rousing one-two of audio whoop-ass underlined by bassist Chris 'Chip' Chipouras’ methodical bass lines and the steady percussion of Congas and rhythm guitar by Neil Yukimura. The Methods sound is rounded out with Boston based emcees Lawrence ‘L’ Kerr’s staccato delivery of complex rhymes and Nick ‘Don Dilly’ Dillen’s energy driven punch-lines. MTHDS have been booked aside The Roots, Ludacris, Guru, Everlast, 3OH!3, Asher Roth, Eek-A-Mouse, Afroman, Collie Buddz, El-P, Warsaw Poland Bros, Whiskey Blanket, 40oz to Freedom, and many others. They also rocked the Honda Sessions '08 snowboard comp in Vail and the Mountain DewTour '09 in Breckenridge. All the acts they’ve shared the stage with embody a wide variety of styles, and in each case the MTHDS sound has proven a complimentary and vibrant addition. Ready to play. Anytime.
