Preview of Cornelia Bloom and the Accordion Museum
Amigos, have you noticed the improved cover of my first little book, "Cornelia Bloom and the Accordion Museum." (Plus, I figured out how to get an ISBN...and all that. Oh, things are getting scary now!) If you live in Seattle, you may recognize the windows of the third-floor lobby of the Harvard Exit theatre, one of my favorite movie theatres in Seattle. Whenever I am there, I go up and take pictures, to see what is happening with the light. It is a beautiful beautiful room! The place is supposed to be haunted, so I suspect that special glow by the front window may be one of the ghosts. (I only just noticed that and am completely scaring myself now!) Also, a fun new section of accordion facts in the book.
But mostly, this book is the story of a lady's falling-in-love with the accordion. (A story you might know well yourself!) It is for free birds age four to one-hundred-four who love music, spaceships, cellos, accordions, more... It is for musicians, artists, poets, dreamers... It is for accordion players, or anyone whose grandpa used to play the accordion, or anyone who has ever known an accordion player, or anyone who would maybe like to marry one... It is for anyone who has an old accordion in the attic they need to fall in love with! What I mean to say is, this book is for you!!
Just hit the link above to preview some pages of my book, or hit the Lulu "Buy Now" button to go straight to checkout. (Oh, and a reading just below!) Hot off the press! Only for you. =)
p.s. My youtube writeup (kind of a fun one), is on my blogpage here too.
SO, HELLO WAYFARER...
How lovely that you came by! I am a writer, musician, mother, and amateur filmmaker of many inspirations and aspirations. I was born in Amsterdam, but spent many of my growing-up years in Lawrence, Kansas and Pasadena, California. I currently live in Seattle, where it really does rain all the time. (Except today.) I grew up playing cello, piano, and alto recorder, but now I mostly love to sing and play the accordion... Say hello! I love new friends!!
I LIKE SPRING!!
Just some photos, amigos, cuz I like spring!! Over the winter, grew some hair, started a batch of spring freckles, pants still fit from last year... Let's kick it then!! Let the summer begin! =)

People from all over the world, in their livingrooms, offering up their songs. What else could there be, more positive for the world?! I know, right? That's what I think too.

The background photo of this page, by the way, is of a funky tattoo parlor in Seattle that I used for one of my earliest videos. I love taking photographs, although I have not graduated much past my cellphone. Thank you for coming by!!~~bernadette...
Two Days in LA wid My Brudder Frank
With the song, Midnight Blue, played rather dreamily by my boy's middleschool jazz combo last year.
Bernadette's Summer of Love2, Suzanne
I love Leonard Cohen songs, especially this song Suzanne. For me this song is so evocative of another time. I like the sweet simplicity of the people, the relationships in this song. I could sing these songs forever. I hope you enjoy.
Bernadette Ran Away to Join the Circus... I was up half the night making this one. It features my accordion rendition of a Ukranian folksong called The Nightingale. See the 3 blogs on this one too. We went to the Cirque du Soleil a couple of weeks ago, and I was inspired...
