Although formed in late 2001, SufferKate's line-up and sound wasn't established until 2005. Singer and guitarist Christopher Castleberry, and lead guitarist Jerry Hughes are the only original members since the bands inception, that included childhood friends, Brad Anders, Paul Fong, and Chris' brother, Gordon. After a few false starts and a few years worth of writing and honing their sound, SufferKate jumped into the Arkansas music scene with bassist Ray Wallis and drummer Don Johnson to help support their demo, Things To Come. After establshing the band in the live venue circuit, Sufferkate decided to add guitarist Matt Baker, replaced Don with drummer Casey Jones, and to embrace the more "new prog" direction that songwriters Chris and Jerry were leaning towards. Matt and Casey were easy additions, being close friends with the band, that helped the overall chemistry. Moving foward as a five piece, the band continued to play live shows and started writing material for their upcoming debut cd entitled "Beautiful Disease", a concept album based on their muse, "Kate", that's expected to be released by early 2009.Halfway through recording "Beautiful Disease", Matt Baker and Ray Wallis were forced to leave the band due to personal reasons. Both, leaving on good terms with the band and remaining close friends and supporters, will still be heard on the cd's release on the songs that they recorded. To finish the cd, Chris resumed guitar duties and SufferKate hired local musician, Jordan Stich, to take over on bass. Sufferkate is poised and ready to take the next big step, and look forward to exposure to a larger audience base through touring and electronic releases of their music, videos, and accompanying novella.SufferKate is represented and managed by Mikel Woodall of Leg Up Promotions and can be contacted at
