New World Gypsy is an all-encompassing group of interactive performers. The troupe of consists of talented dancers, musicians, singers and storytellers. Jyannissimi is the tribe name but the troupe in an evolving and growing company of performers specializing in dance theater and folktales inspired by gypsy lore and involving audience participation. Dancers schooled in Turkish and American Vintage Bellydance, Rom/Gypsy folkloric and Tribal fusion entertain to the rhythm of live music. Spinning skirts and veils, balanced swords and canes, flickering flames and slithering snakes, add variety and drama to the continually moving dance sequences.
