The Jute Factory Studios

About Me

The Jute Factory recording studio is now in existence about 3 years. Started by local musician Cormac kavanagh to primarily record high quality demos for his original band Duped, it has quickly become a popular studio among local bands and songwriters. Not being strictly a "commercial" studio, Cormac prefers to work with interesting musicians and bands. Dont expect to hear any "Westlife" clones or "40 favourite Pan-pipe anthems" coming from this studio! Singer/songwriters can record their entire albums here with a choice of top-quality session players and production/arrangement expertise. Bands such as Bill Minus, Dae Kim, The Distractions, Orpheus, Saviours of Space, Gorbachov and many more have all made great demos at the studio and with the benefit of new equipment and microphones, The Jute Factory can now compete sonically with the best studios for a fraction of the price.. Situated in the old Jute Factory, Waterford City the live room can accomodate most bands and we specialise in full band recording. Using high-end preamps, (Langevin DVC, Focusrite ISA's, SPL valve Goldmike, TL Audio dual-valve) and microphones like (Neumann TLM103, Gefell UM70s', M71s', M93s', Shure SM81's, AKG D112, Audix D6, Beyer M260 ribbon) at 24bit onto an AKAI DPS24 ensures highest quality recording. Monitoring is through the venerable Yamaha NS10s and HHB circle 5. Marshall and Fender valve amps are available as well as a selection of Fender and Tokai electrics. The Bass POD and Yamaha DG Stomp are also available as DI options. Rates available on request. Just message this site or e-mail [email protected]
