I was born in Akron Ohio, but lived most of my life in California. My father was a singer and tap-dancer, his father, my Grandfather was a singer, dancer, comedian and night club owner. There were a lot of choices I could have made in the way of a career but music and acting wouldn't let me sleep. Through no conscious effort on my own I envisioned myself entertaining people at a very young age. So I didn't have much of a choice in the matter, and as Popeye would say, "I am what I am and that's all that I am".
Music and singing makes me feel as real as I can feel about myself. To where as acting makes me feel as real as I can feel being someone else. (Try to say that fast). I've done a number of things in the entertainment business from theatre, T.V., movies, singing backup vocals in a major recording act, singing lead vocals for a recording group that sold very well over the years. I sang and co-wrote the theme song for a well known T.V. show, and for the last eight years performed with my own band in Las Vegas on what's considered one of the longest runs on the strip any entertainer has had with a major casino. I'm promoting my Cd working hard at getting as many people as I can to purchase it or get picked up by a label. And I just finished my first book currently working at getting it out into your hands. Last but not least I started writing and producing my next Cd... yeah, wow.... I'm tired, but what else is there to do, and as the saying goes " to whom much is given, much is required". I'm proud to that a lot of people love my work and like me don't understand why my work has not been picked up by the majors as of yet, but I know one day... it's gonna be okay. My Cd I feel very proud of I wish the co-writer, my friend had have the confidence I have in it, that would make life a lot easier. Always remember, we all have some form of limited vision, just make sure the people you surround yourself with are willing to look past their limitations and go for the gold, that same vision you see or at least their willing to try and work hard at it.
One of the greatest lessons that always stands out in my mind in the entertainment business is that it's a people service position. You have to find out what they like by trial and error. And that means getting rejected in a lot of things you bring to the table. You've got to be strong to take the hit's from people that love you but don't except all that you do. Hopefully you have people in your life that will be truthful about your work and of course you can trust. I've learned it anit easy baby so don't be thin skinned. And don't be scared of being different. Stop copying and be the copied. If you give that to them each and every time and they know where they can get it when they want it without looking for it, if you do that you'll have a long and great career.
