Truth, it seems, will be our last guide...

About Me

I'm a twenty-two year-old ex-ASU engineering student. I live in a condo with three roommates in Tempe, AZ and work as an operations assistant at Guitar Center. I'm the second of six kids; numerous members of my family are here on Myspace.
You can check out my Livejournal at http://penguin_rock.livejournal.com .
1010 Things About Me (that's ten in binary)
-- I'm addicted to learning about and tweaking guitar effects, and related electronics. I'm considering pursuing electrical engineering to further my knowledge of guitar/pedal/amplifier circuitry and maybe begin building my own stuff someday.
-- It has nothing to do with an image problem, but I never wear hats, shorts, or sandals. Ever.
-- No matter what people say, I think California is the most beautiful state. I'm also longing to see Washington and much of the Pacific Northwest.
-- I was a competition speller throughout my schooling days. If you spell something wrong in front of me, I WILL let you know about it.
-- I'm going bald and I will openly talk about it.
-- I absolutely love cold weather, and it is extremely annoying to me to hear other people talk about how cold it is in a room.
-- People tell me that I snore... But I don't really know that.
-- My whole life, I have had a very profound and almost bizarre fascination with fire.
-- Green is my favourite color: my last name is Greenwood, I have green eyes, and I was born in March, which has St. Patrick's Day. The first book I learned how to read was Dr. Seuss' Green Eggs and Ham.
-- I firmly believe in the idea of Objective Truth, that we are real, and right and wrong DOES matter; that God is the Creator of our world and us, and that the Bible is the universal standard by which to base our morality.
..

My Interests

Playing guitar, going to shows (to watch bands play, not to hardcore dance), writing poetry, involving myself at Grace Community Church in Tempe, AZ, riding my bicycle, developing my tastes for wine and dark beer, analyzing everything in existence, hookah and the occasional cigar, Gibson and Schecter guitars, Boss / ZVEX / Electro-Harmonix / Moog pedals, Seymour Duncan pickups, Mesa/Boogie amps, Chuck Taylors, In-N-Out Burger, RC Cola and Cheerwine soda, daydreaming a lot about being in a touring band someday, and CURRENTLY rocking pretty awesome manly sideburns.

I'd like to meet:

Dr. Robert Moog (now deceased), the creator of Moog synthesizers. I don't play piano or synth, but his contribution to furthering the purposes of electronics in music is fascinating to me.

Doug Van Pelt, editor of HM magazine. He and his team have helped shape my views on the implications of "Christian" music.

Simply put: if I don't know you personally, I will not add you as a friend. No point in having 500+ people on my friends list if I've never had a genuine connection with them. I'm not into getting as many people as possible to add me just to boost my ego and/or user statistics. But hey, I try not to be too close-minded about this. Drop me a line, send a message, or IM me (AOL nicktheantiheat) and I'd be glad to meet and discuss with you (I just won't add you to my friends list... yet). Have a pleasant and joyous time viewing my profile; I'm very proud of it. Thank you.

I WILL NOT ADD YOUR BAND NOR YOUR CLOTHING LABEL, SO DON'T ASK.
I understand the ability of the internet and Myspace as a powerful tool for promoting music, but I'm tired of sifting through 20+ band invites a week. Supporting the local music scene does not mean simply adding a ton of bands on one's profile.

Movies?

Notice how I took "Napoleon Dynamite" off of my movie interests. Because now I HATE that film. It's so hip, that it isn't hip anymore. Dang.
