About Me

I'm a UNCW graduate ('04) and the biggest sports fan you'd ever meet. And after a year of grad school at UF, I have found out that even though I like chemistry, I'd rather do something for a living that I have a passion for, like event planning/coordinating in sports and music!
So now I am an Event Coordinator at the Lawrence Joel Coliseum Complex in Winston Salem, NC and I love every minute of my job. After running the Annex/Education Building/Ice skating rink for 2 years, I am now in charge of all outdoor events, including: WSSU Football, Bowman Gray Racing and being the parking coordinator for all events. But still, as a whole, I plan/coordinate games and events like Wake Forest basketball, football tailgate parties (for the WFU opponents), concerts, trade shows, meeting room events/banquets, proms, graduations, the local fair, and even some theatre shows. I'm so excited to be done with internships and school, with only my FUN career ahead of me.
Even though I miss college, I'm really loving being in the real world in a career that I truly love!
Outside of the workplace, I am all about making people happy, hanging out with my friends, watching Family Guy, playing Halo 3/Guitar Hero 3/Rock Band on Xbox Live with my buddies, and rooting for UNCW/UF/Pro sports with all of those CRAZY sports fanatics out there!
And finally, after chemotherapy from 9/2005 to 4/2006 , I am now a cancer survivor! :)... I try to give back to current cancer patients and survivors as much as I can by volunteering my time at Cancer Services in Winston-Salem. In Aug. 2007 I went to a cancer survivor camp (Camp Mak-A-Dream) in Montana and made friends with some of the most inspiring 18-25 year old survivors/patients. I can't wait to go back to CMAD again this year in June and I'm also attending First Descents in Colorado in August (young adult cancer survivor 6-day kayaking trip!)... It's hard to understand I'm sure, but I'm actually really glad that I got cancer -- I've tried to make the best of everything that it has brought me :).
