About Me
“MASSICâ€
As rare as an eclipse, there are artists that are born that can only be considered a “Phenomenon,†capturing the attention of the masses with their talent. Sometimes falling under the umbrella of Singer - Songwriter, or maybe Producer – CEO but seldomly one man can master an entire realm of music. Rob “Massic†Antoine is one such man. As a Rapper – Producer – Engineer – Writer and Co-CEO – he encompasses the components of a true “Phenomenon.â€Exceeding the norm, Massic has done it all. Adding his personal touches to a variety of avenues, this artist began his musical adventures in the late 80’s, as a Rapper before testing his wisdom and pursuing a Music Business Degree at the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale. Long days of education and late nights of creating his harmonious persona, Massic drowned himself in perfecting his craft knowing that one day he would put his talents to the test.In 1996, empowered by his new found aptitude of Sound Engineer and Music Business Theory, Massic returned to his hometown of South West Kendall and focused on the trio BlackKactus, a group composed of his twin brother Bern “Prop†and a friend. As an Underground group, the hustle and grind of the streets served as a motivator and they fought to get the recognition they knew they deserved by blowing up the spot during live performances at some of Miami’s hottest clubs and with the support of people like CEO of Liquid Shield, Nick Fury, their singles were blasted on Mix 96, FIU’s 88.1 and other college stations across South Florida, New York and Boston. The group then decided to press up some promotional vinyl with one of the Liquid Shield Nick Fury produced banger’s called Tragidy. The white label single landed them there first record deal with Wia/Wherrling/Coconut Grove Records, a Miami-base record label. With new found confidence that their destiny would play out six months passed and they asked to be released from their contract because of discrepancies which became their reality. But that would not be the end for them because as an investment their signing bonus dollars had been used to buy equipment that would later help Massic display his producing flair.A stagnant record deal, made Massic redirect his focus into a new group called Gemini, which only included his Twin. By producing themselves the realization of an album came quickly with the release of two more smoking white label singles that Industry heads could not ignore. But once again fate intervened and the project was halted. Adversity, complexity and struggle have all been key ingredients to Massic’s devotion to his first love, Music. The tables soon turned and by building a state-of-the-art recording studio in Miami’s steaming South Beach, Massic had networked his way into perfect opportunities and contacts. His perfected arsenal of tracks, beats and songs opened the flood gates to that unexplainable, incomparable Ill Killa Vibe.In his repertoire, Hip Hop & R&B, Hard Core & Commercial and Reggaeton skills, the use of Live Acoustic Instruments, and some of the worlds best equipment including MPC 2000, 2000XL and 4000, Pro Tools HD3, KORG Tritons Pro, LE, Reason, and 1080 Roland have all lent a hand to the promotion of IKV Productions, IKV Studio and Track Bookiez Association, Inc. Dividing his traveling from New York, Los Angeles and Atlanta, Massic is not only working on defining the word Phenomenon but living it as well. His music speaks for itself and soon the world will marvel in the wonder that is “MASSIC!â€
