My Dad shipped me off age 5 to live with my Mom in Kailua Kona Hawaii (Da Big Island), Got thrown in the family pool immediately upon arrival, it was sink or swim! Luckily I learned to swim like a fish. Growing up on a tropical island as a kid is an awsome experience. The locals were be both really loving and warm like your own family or could be the exact opposite. I had my share of fights, Sushi, Rice Balls, Kim Chee and Kalua Pig. When I hit my high school years I left Hawaii and moved back to CA to live w my Dad again. I got more into Skateboarding and Surfing over time and met many cool friends. I eventually made my way to Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo where I excelled at Business & Political Science & Surfing. I spread my wings a little bit and took a job in Arizona to work for a Real Estate Tycoon that I'd become friends with. I should have known living any where outside of an hour from the Ocean would be a HUGE mistake. 6 months later I moved back to CA. minus a girlfriend and a job but with a few grand in my pocket and a game plan. I ended up in Santa Cruz and I'm still here 15 years later. I can't say I've traveled as much as I would have liked or achieved all of my lofty goals, but I can say I am still working at doing both.
