About Me
NOTICE TO ALL:
I have had the honor and pleasure of serving the citizens of Sherman County since June 1998, when I began as a Communications Officer with Sherman County Communications. I subsequently took a position with the Goodland Police Department, and later moved on to the Sherman County Sheriff’s Office. I have enjoyed my time serving the Sherman County community, and have made many valued and trusted many friends.
On November 28, 2007, I was terminated by the Sherman County Sheriff’s Office, and wish to take this opportunity to thank each and every person with whom I have come into contact. I have thoroughly enjoyed serving the community, and working with the many emergency workers by whom this county is served.
Thank you for a great nine years of service.
Sincerely,
Brad Parker
UPDATED NOTICE TO ALL:
Many of you have inquired as to whether or not I am still going to be in law enforcement. While I am not at liberty to discuss details at this point in time, I have been reinstated as a Kansas Certified Law Enforcement Officer, which will allow me to attend a final 96 hour block of training to obtain status as an Accident Reconstructionist. With this final training, scheduled for 16 hours at the last of May and 80 hours in June, I will have 254 hours of accident investigation training. That certification will open numerous opportunities for me, particularly when I pass the accreditation test with the Accreditation Commission for Traffic Accident Reconstructionists, which I tentatively plan to take in September, but that is not finalized yet.
I will provide more details when I am at liberty to do so.
Brad Parker
AND NOW BACK TO GENERAL INFORMATION:
As if anyone wanted one or really cares...this humble little page is your connection to the infamous Parker...the former Goodland Police Officer and former Sherman County Deputy Sheriff (terminated 11/28/2007), but I'd like to keep the grievances to a minimum. I'm a certified Technical Accident Investigator...not a lawyer, so don't bother asking legal advice, as I either don't know or wouldn't provide advice that could prove to be wrong. If you have a problem with me personally that you would like to address, let me know politely, and we'll take it off line and address it via email or possibly in person. I don't want a lot of dirty laundry on this page. Your cooperation and courtesy are greatly appreciated.
But, to address the "about me" question, here is the corresponding section from my long running personal blog, "Brad Parker Presents: Mindless Meanderings and Pointless Observations" (parkersh5.blogspot.com):
"I have a B.A. in Administration of Justice from Bethany College, and have nine years of law enforcement experience. I am trained as a Technical Accident Investigator, gradually working towards certification and national accreditation as a Traffic Accident Reconstructionist."
As almost a Trivial Pursuit type of tidbit, I was a member of now infamous 153rd Basic Training Academy Class (early 1999...the class that all subsequent classes have been told of by staff) at the Kansas Law Enforcement Training Center (K.L.E.T.C.). The 153rd has the distinction of being the only class ever to make the cover of "USA Today," primarily due to an investigation being conducting by the Reno County Sheriff's Office and the Kansas Bureau of Investigation into a small, select group of student officers. This investigation, centering on approximately five of our 81 students in that class, involved no one from any jurisdiction west of, let's say, I-135, so it did not affect any of my regional colleagues or I. While not at liberty to discuss the details, suffice to say that a story of inappropriate behavior by students while not on K.L.E.T.C. property surfaced, and was later discredited. But, the mention in USA Today was kind of an honor...
I am licensed in both the HA and ZA radio services. I am active in local SKYWARN and A.R.E.S. nets, and am primarily found on a hit and miss basis on 2 meter FM call and local repeaters, as well as 440 FM call under the callsign KCØZTZ in the HA Service. You might catch me via Echolink Node 343738 (KCØZSH-L), or on the Echolink or IRLP Nodes assigned to the local 2 meter repeater, WAØGBN, but I tend to try to stay off of that repeater as much as possible. With regard to ZA service contact, I can sometimes be found as WPVL916 on simplex 462.700 (TX/RX CTCSS=D205N; the local repeater, owned by a WPYV39Ø, having been recently shut down without explanation), or on simplex alternate 462.725 (TX/RX CTCSS=D271N). If nearby, equipped, and licensed, give me a shout via HA or ZA service.

I have since spoken several times, both on my own and as part of panel discussions, being cited by my peers' books on occasion and honored with the title "JFK Assassination Medical Evidence Expert." The video of this presentation is available from JFK Lancer in their 1997 conference video set - This paper was only formally published as part of my 2002 book, but was delivered, a delivery which was digitally recorded, so it became public in 1997. At the end of the conference, during which I presented this paper, I received a certificate from organizer Debra Conway, which read in part, [to] "Brad Parker...presented in appreciation for your contribution of evidence and furthering the study of the assassination of President John F. Kennedy by your presentation at the 1997 Conference," presented on behalf of JFK Lancer Productions and Publications, and someone whom everyone in the research community knew and admired, my dear friend, the late Mary Ferrell, whom I think of as "the original assassination researcher").

The book, now available only as part of a CD-ROM by the same name, includes on said CD-ROM the 2000 speech by Parkland's Chief Resident in Surgery on November 22, 1963, Ronald C. Jones, M.D., with whom I had become good friends and interviewed extensively. My being summoned to Dallas in 2000 to introduce Dr. Jones to the conference attendees was probably the highlight of my life in the research community, and marks the first time, after years of telephone calls and correspondence, that Dr. Jones and I met in person. That moment was forever preserved in a photograph, but our very public meeting, and my entire introduction is included on the CD-ROM. See "Books" section for additional information).

PLEASE SEE my personal blog (password protected, open only to those whom I feel "get" me) at parkersh5.blogspot.com, and I am now on facebook.com as "Brad Parker" as part of the North Platte, NE network (belonging to, among others, the groups "COPA (Coalition on Political Assassinations)," "Shughart & Gordon Memorial Group," "Amateur Radio Emergency Service," and ".40 Glock." (Be sure to check out this rather odd and "alarming by design" presentation about facebook at http://albumoftheday.com/facebook/. Even if the information is true, I'm skeptical that anything collected from these relatively superficial pages will be of any true investigative assistance to the DoD, CIA, or NSA. You'd have to be pretty naive to think that the local cops aren't looking at myspace.com or any other social web sites, but we certainly have no interest in what books you read or if you just saw the latest Hollywood blockbuster I fail to see that the information on any of the pages that I have seen, either on facebook.com or myspace.com is of significant investigative value.)
REGARDING FRIEND REQUESTS: As a sort of footnote, I'd like to mention that I receive a lot of friend requests from people I do not know, and it is rare that I reject such requests (provided they are not porn marketing ploys). Particularly close to my heart are requests from bands (as well as solo musicians; "bands" being used liberally here as a term for "musical act"), some of which I have heard of, but most of which I have not. So, my general policy is that I will approve such requests in hopes that they may gain added exposure by being on as many profiles as possible. That's sort of my modest contribution to an effort to make these bands as successful as possible. Having been in my share of bands, and knowing how difficult it can be to deal with personality conflicts and egos, any band that has reached the level of success, even at a local or regional level that most of these bands have, has certainly earned my respect.
I also get requests from amateur radio operators, which, if you're not an amateur (I dislike the term "HAM"), it's sort of a community in and of itself, and I have yet to reject such a request. Part of the FCC Decreed purpose of amateur radio is to promote good will, and I have yet to find a profile from which I have received a request (I review the profile of each request that I receive...from anyone) that does not fall into that same vein of promoting good will.
So, that's why I have such a diverse assortment of friends listed below.
