Eamon ONeill

About Me

"O'Neill demonstrate's just what fantastic music one man and a guitar can produce".- Tom Girard, BBC Guernsey.
Eamon O'Neill is a successful solo acoustic performer, lead guitarist with Pre Med ,which also features former Hawkwind bassist Alan Davey , and leader of the versatile music trio D3uce .
Irishman Eamon was born and raised in the Co. Derry village of Moneymore. He first picked up the guitar when he was 13 years old, and, inspired by his heroes AC/DC, Iron Maiden and Metallica, formed his first band, Nobody's Heroes , in 1991.
The band achieved various levels of success, most notably, with appearances on both TV and National Radio. The band's debut recording, released in 1995, was Produced by Clive Culbertson, of the Van Morrison Band.
"Eamon is no slouch on the guitar... He's destined for great things".- Colin Leach, Guernsey Press.
Nobody's Heroes split in 1998, and Eamon relocated to England. Following sporadic gigging in both Worcester (where he performed in front of, among others, Debbie Bohnam, sister of the late Led Zeppelin drummer John) and London, He joined Pre Med . He spent much of 2006 recording with the band. The resulting Album, the critically acclaimed 'The Truth About Us' was released in February 2008, and is available from most major suppliers, including Amazon and HMV.com.
In Late 2006, Eamon relocated again, this time to Guernsey in the Channel Islands. He soon made an impact on the island as a solo performer, with regular live shows in some of the island's top venues. Eamon has also been a regular in Guernsey's media. Following a Glowing Review from Tom Girard on the BBC website, Eamon has appeared numerous times on BBC Radio Guernsey, both in the studio, and on outside broadcasts. He has also been a regular on 'Island FM', Guernsey's top rated commercial station, where he played several live sessions on Simon Charlwood's 'The Edge' show. You can listen to Eamon's first BBC Radio Appearence and view his BBC profile page by clicking Here .
More recently, following inspiring jam sessions with the multi-tallented violinist, guitarist and singer Becky Hamilton, and saxophonist Colin Falla, Eamon formed the band D3uce . In March 2009 the 3-piece were invited to open for the Kast Off Kinks at Guernsey's Beau Sejour Center. The gig was a huge success, which culminated in jam session between both bands, on 4 tracks including the Kinks classic "You Really Got Me".
Island life however, has not put an end to Pre Med's activities, and Eamon regularly travels back to the UK for live appearences with the band. With show's booked for 2009, and a new Pre Med album on the horizon the band are set for a busy future.
Eamon is an accomplished guitar player and singer. With styles encompassing Rock, Metal, Acoustic and Pop, he is a dynamic performer and song writer.
