Matt Kelly, Kevin Pilong and Matt Johnsen began jamming together in the empty parking lots and back woods of Delaware County, a suburb outside of Philadelphia. These impromptu sessions were spawned out of boredom in the areas where their group of high school friends would hang out. It wasn't until later when Matt Kelly and Kevin got a gig at a local bar that they began playing earnestly, inviting Matt Johnsen to sit in on bass. Soon their trio became a staple in the Delaware county bar scene. After a few months, Matt Johnsen looked up a drummer he knew from early punk/garage band days. Chris Petersen soon joined the band, adding a layer of sophisticated percussion and drumming to their music. They were known for avoiding heavily covered material and instead covered music that would totally surprise the bar audiences, from Marvin Gayes' "Got to Give It Up" to Coldplay's "Politik". Eventually Matt Kelly emerged as Fetch's leading song writer as they shed their cover band roots. His writing style pulled from the band's eclectic tastes, giving each of his compositions a distinct sound of their own. From laid back shuffles, intense driving rock, even to middle eastern rhythms, categorizing the band's sound is increasingly difficult with each song. The arrival of the newest member of the band, Chelsea Spiotta, has come to strengthen the diverse sound even more. Her gorgeous Motown voice and classically trained piano playing has added an even greater layer of complexity to the band's sound. Fetch has a long awaited album due out this fall, They can be seen supporting their album in the Philadelphia area at clubs and colleges.
