We are Sticks And Stones, an instrumental hard-rock trio from San Francisco.
Our band consists of guitarists, Gretchen Menn and Mickael Tremel, and drummer, Sam Adato.
Gretchen and Mickael first met and started jamming in January of 2006. Having come from widely different musical backgrounds, we started exchanging knowledge—music theory in exchange for shred. Hours and weeks of geeking out later, we recognized that the inception phase of a band was already underway.
Sam Adato, the heavy-hitting, Bay Area drummer, expressed interest in the project, and Sticks and Stones was born.
On our new CD, Unbreakable Strings, we have 10 original tunes, plus a one-song tribute to two of our favorite bands: the Dixie Dregs's arrangement of Kashmir by Led Zeppelin. While Sticks and Stones is a guitar-oriented, instrumental project, we are primarily focused with writing strong, solid music that is both accessible as well as interesting. We are influenced by artists such as the Dixie Dregs, Jeff Beck, Van Halen, Deep Purple, The Mahavishnu Orchestra, and Led Zeppelin, to name just a few.
We are loud; we are high-energy; and we love what we do. We hope you will enjoy it as well!
Many thanks!
Gretchen, Mickael and Sam
