Everything has a start...
In august 2004 three boys started the 7th grade at Trojenborgsskolan, Skänninge. Anton can still remember that Robin and Simon looked like hillbillys, and Robin and Simon thought Anton looked like a snob, atleast he had snob clothes!
The fourth member, Sebbe, had only just begun the 6th grade.
Simon and Robin formed a band called Generation Jackels that Anton actually played with for about a month in april 2007, but it didn't go that well and Anton had to quit. Punkpop wasn't really his cup of tea, and they already had a leadsinger/songwriter. Instead he recorded songs on his own. After not talking to Robin and Simon during the summer, Anton and Robin started at the same gymnasium in Motala. They soon started hanging out again, and when Robin heard
Anton's songs he got interested in playing with him.
In November 2007 Anton and Robin formed a new band together, and they already had a cool bandname, the So'Mores. When watching the fabulous movie "Forrest Gump", Anton noticed someone talking about "eating s'mores". After alot of ideas about how they should spell it, they chose "the So'Mores". Simon was contacted to be a temporary solution on the bassguitar. He decided to stay after the first gig in Skänninge (where Anton had throat problems, and almost couldn't sing at all after 5 songs. Kinda' cool though!) and Robin and Anton were happy to
have the best bassplayer in Östergötland in their crew.
The So'Mores gained some experience by competing in "Musikdirekt", the biggest music contest in the country. They actually got to the finals, where they didn't win, but after playing only 5 months they were quite happy anyway. A week after the finals Sebbe Lönn became a So'More, since the band needed a lead guitarist. He took the band to another level, and his forthcoming year they've had the time to sign up for some other competitions such as Rockkarusellen, Musikdirekt and Emergenza.
Ofcourse the goal is winning it all.The "best of the 2008" material was recorded at FithMiX studios, with Erik Werner during this fall. It became an 7 track EP, "The Search for Inspirado", and can be purchased for 40 SEK if you contact us. Just send an e-mail to us here on myspace or [email protected] and we'll tell you how to do!
