Standing at a well-sculpted 6-foot-4 frame, it is difficult not to notice Panta. With his elegant style, seductive mannerisms and mysterious aura, people are often heard wondering aloud: “Who is this man? Is he a professional basketball player, a model or some sort of entertainer? WHO IS HE?Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York to parents who migrated from the Caribbean islands, Panta spent his formative years living in a tiny one-bedroom apartment. Growing up Panta didn’t have many legitimate opportunities to express his entrepreneurial spirit, so he turned to the streets as an outlet. Everyone in the neighborhood called him Black Panther, because of his likeness to the animal. He had this strong, subtle presence, yet he was always smooth. And everyone knew, if provoked, he also had a vicious bite. Later on he would drop the black and change the spelling to his real name PANTA.Panta made a life altering decision; he postponed his recording career to earn a college degree in Business Administration & Music. However he did maintain his appetite for music by "ghost" writing for major recording acts. During the next few years, Panta enjoyed a quiet life out of the spotlight. Focusing on his various entrepreneurial endeavors, he opened a recording studio, acquired a real estate portfolio which included both Caribbean and domestic properties and even traveled extensively to Europe and South America. These critical experiences helped fuel the content of Panta’s latest offering, “International Lover.†His exposure to a myriad of people, places and new found musical influences are glaringly apparent on “International Lover†Combining Latin, African, R&B, Hip-Hop, Pop and Rock music, this project remains true to his Caribbean background while maintaining a distinct dancehall base. The songs on “International Lover†were inspired greatly by factual occurrences from both afar and right here at home. Panta also found inspiration by writing music that conveyed his mood or vibe while in a particular location. The title track was actually written on a flight from Brazil, meanwhile “Grind Harder" is a self motivational working class mantra. Panta explains his body of work best: “International Lover†is my best work to date. Not only does it express my love for beautiful women across the world, but it also expresses my genuine passion for international music and culture. You only live once but once is enough if you do it right! So fuel up that G5, pack your bags…I’ll bring the music!â€
