'LO-FI LONER FOLK'
- Sixteen Dead Men -
Hi, my name is AJ.
I play the guitar & sing songs which I've written under the moniker Sixteen Dead Men. (The name comes from the title of a WB Yeats Poem)
When performing live, I either play solo, or other times I play with the backing of a few good friends.
I have recently released my first record which is called Don't Boast Dopamine EP on the HFWH Records label & it's available to buy on the site. www.hfwhrecords.com
The EP was recorded in Blackrock Dublin with well-known producer Jonny Tennant. And released in May 09.
Some kind things people have said about Sixteen Dead Men & the record:
'Like Nick Cave, he's a musician's musician'
'Belongs in Greenwich Village'
'O! Lover is an awesome, awesome track. Incredible craft.'
'A four track EP featuring October, Child of Diane, O! Lover and Irena. A nice selection of laid back folky based sounds with hints of rootsy americana.'
I hope you enjoy what I make, thanks for listening
Am currently listening to; Tallest Man on Earth & some old Wilco albums.
I think there is great Irish music around at the moment too. The Villagers EP is great. I also like The Ambience Affair, Crayon Smith, Autumn Owls, Wishcow, Adrian Crowley & Katie Kim
