I nspired at the age of 11, Jordan Hanley now known as G’Dup focused his mind towards a musical life. As he proceeded to grow older with his words and thoughts of music he began writing at the age of thirteen after listening to his brother's Notorious B.I.G. album. He then realised hip hop had influenced him to become what he is today and hope’s to conquer at the end of the day.
B orn ; Jordan Hanley on February 20, 1990 in Montreal, Quebec, had realised he had been attached to hip hop his whole life without even knowing what the two words even meant. After learning that his cousin spit bars, and his brother had online freestyle’s going on, he thought about going through the same stage/era. After turning 14 and heading towards 15 years of age, G’Dup had started writing non-stop and listening to his influences more and more, such as, Tupac Shakur & Christopher “Biggie†Smalls.
I n Gr. 10, G’Dup recorded his first track Titled “ The Streets “ on the locked up Instrumental ; Produced by Akon, in a friends spare room on a computer mic while using Cool Edit pro 2.0. He has now since then worked on his lyrical skills, flow skills and delivery skills. He is now in order working towards gaining more word of mouth from the people of Ottawa, and Canada itself.
G ’Dup now hopes to accomplish an under construction mixtape titled “ Block Posted “ and then follow that with an EP feauturing his cousin who has been rapping for 9 years. The EP is thought to be titled as “ Thicker Then Water “. His cousin being LT from the same hood G'Dup was raised in, and who has lived next door to Jordan Hanley for almost 14 years. LT knowing some of the many names known throughout ottawa's underground rap scene.
S eptember 7th, 2007, GDup released his first ever mixtape entitled "Block Posted The Mixtape". Sale's went well, following sales he decided to release the mixtape for free. "A lot harder then you think when you trying to push these tapes around your city, you need a budget and a blueprint about how your gonna do it" said GDup.
A brand new mixtape was set to be released right after the release of "Block Posted" this mixtape was entitled "Lifestyles Of The Broke & Famous" with features like ; Koncreto from Vancouver, Canada, JerzZ from New Jersey, Caddy Lac from V-City, Sweden, KDV & Mac from Nashville, Tennessee & other collaborations from GDup's very own label and affiliates from Ottawa, Ontario. The mixtape is set to release December 20th, 2007.
