Evangelist Ruth Latchison Nichols was born in St.Louis Mo in a strictly disciplined Christian home to Rev.Andrew and Missionary Lola Latchison. Raised in the church,she began singing at the age of 8. She was educated in the St.Louis Public School System,graduating from Soldan High School. She attended Forest Park Community College, Washington University and Harris Teachers College. She has been singing for (44)years, and evangelizing for (26)years. She has performed in several productions including (2)national tours and has lectured, performed and sang in many colleges and universities such as Duke, Howard and George Washington University. She has sang all over the country in theaters, concert halls,churches,etc.,including "Powell Symphony Hall","The Fox Theater","Sheldon Memoral","West Port Playhouse","The RiverPort Amphitheater", the "Scottish Rite Cathedral", "The Edward Jones Dome", The American Center" etc. She has traveled in national gospel plays such as "Be Careful What You Pray For",as well as playing the title role of "Mahalia" in "Believe I'll Testify",to mention a few. She has been hailed "Diva" in St.Louis and the United States,and has been presented the coveted "Great Gospel Singers Commemorative Stamp Collection" plaque by the U.S. Postal Service, plus many more plaques,trophies,and certificates all over the country. Ruth has been presented with the Mayoral Proclamation,The Aldermanic Board Resolution,and St. Louis County Executive Resolution in October,2006. Ruth is married to Rev.Sam Nichols,and was the mother of one beautiful daughter,Esther Ruth who was tragically killed in a car accident in May, 2006. Ruth is Founder/President of "Youth on the Move Crusade,Inc.",dedicated to meeting the holistic needs of the youth of the world regardless of race,creed,gender or belief, since 1992. She is also the Founder/President of S.O.S. Seniors on Sunday,an organization designed to provide assistance to senior citizens. She is available for conferences, workshops, rallies, seminars, and revivals as guest speaker as her schedule permits.
