Production history

At the end of March 2007 I bought Cubase SE3 and some plug-ins, previous to this the only production experience I had was on the primitive Cubasis software at my high school. I produced music using Cubase SE3 for a few months, but in April 2008 it stopped working (never using a Steinberg product again!) so I had to stop making music for a while. I got Ableton Live 7 in July but didn't get a chance to use it until August (due to going on holiday the day after buying it). The day after I got home from my holiday I made my first track with Ableton, and then my computer fucked up which rendered me unable to make any more music for about two months (was lazy and took ages before sending computer off to be fixed). I've got my computer back now, and I plan on making a new tune as soon as possible :)
I don't think I've made a track yet which wasn't at all influenced by The Prodigy or Faithless, who inspired me to start making music.

Also just so you know what's what:

Spira - My first drum&bass track for six months, I finally feel I've grown enough (as a producer) to make drum&bass again. This track was inspired by the (brilliant) soundtracks to the Final Fantasy games.

Liontamer - My second drum&bass track of 2008, finished in the same week as Spira.

The Valley - A drum&bass track I made after listening to Logistic's new album "Reality Checkpoint".

ShroomShroom - Another ambient track, inspired by Underworld's Oblivion With Bells album.

Jetlag - My first track made using Ableton Live 7 (hopefully the first of many). It's a breakbeat track inspired mainly by Hybrid and Way Out West, who I've been listening to a lot lately. It's called Jetlag because I made it the day after arriving back in England after spending nearly a month in Canada, so I had pretty bad jetlag (went 31hours without sleeping) :)

On the ReverbNation music player:

November Has Come - This is my first ambient/breakbeat track. I used the same chords and strings as in my first dance tune (Gloria), only this time they are accompanied by a slow and steady nu-skool break and orchestra hits as opposed to a fast dance beat and church mass vocals.

No Good Remix - I searched youtube for a decent No Good trance remix but couldn't find one, so I decided to make one myself. It has been featured on the Prodigy Mashed Up myspace, which can be found in my top friends or in the top 10 UK breakbeat acts using the "Top Artists" search function.

Phat - my first attempt at making a Big Beat track. Made very quickly.
Ants - My first track after a break from making music. Hardcore breakbeat.

Dublet - My first attempt at Dubstep - made very quickly. I'll go back to this track to add a sub bass soon.

Amen to Dub - My second attempt at Dubstep. I may edit this track again in the future.

Preview of my unfinished new track - A track I haven't finished yet (due to lack of vocals), I've uploaded the unfinished version as I'm not sure how long it's going to take to get the vocals recorded (don't worry, it won't be me singing...). This track was heavily influenced by Hadouken who I've been listening to non-stop lately. I also sampled the old 8-bit Mario and used a riff that was featured in an old computer game to give the track a computer-game-feel.
Arena and Tricksy - Two drum&bass mixes I made using the Orange Mixer months ago.
Panjea Video Player

Medusa's Path - This is a homemade video I made with my mate Ryan to the Prodigy track Medusa's Path. Very amateurish but I had only used Windows Movie Maker once before.

Arena video - the second dance video made by me and Ryan. Both the music and dancing in this video is better than in our Medusa's Path video. The music is a drum&bass mix (called Arena) I made using the Orange Mixer a while ago.

The Prodigy - Break and Enter RMX - This was my first remix...ever (didn't know wtf I was doing).

Loughton Parkour - A video me and two mates made taking the piss out of parkour.

My Interests

Music:

Band Website: http://youtube.com/profile?user=YeojUK
Band Members: Since I'm the only member of my "band" and band profiles don't have a place where you can write about interests, hobbies etc, I might as well write about them here.

Sport

Tennis, basketball, football, table tennis and I used to do a lot of swimming (2 times per week for 5 years) but haven't swum much lately.

Music

I love electronic music, from drum&bass to trance. My favourite artists/bands are The Prodigy, Pendulum, Chemical Brothers, Moby, Underworld and Faithless. I hate most R&B, pop, rap, indie and emo "music". I love raves/gigs.

My lil brother also makes music. He's only 14 and already is better than most amateur producers I see on myspace, his music can be heard at http://www.myspace.com/laurierrewen !

TV

Family Guy, Simpsons, Planet Earth, Heroes, South Park, Doctor Who, Mock the Week, My Name is Earl, fonejacker, Ugly Betty, Top Gear, American Dad, Green Wing, Friends, Scrubs, Torchwood, Doc.martin & Futurama ftw

Films

My favourite film is probably Borat, was almost on the floor laughing at some parts. I could write an essay on my favourite films, but I doubt anyone would read it, so I'll leave the films section with just Borat for now :)

Art

Recently I've been using Photoshop CS2 and a Wacom Bamboo graphics tablet to create various forms of art including forum signatures, myspace layouts and edited photos.
I am also a big fan of Banksy's street art (http://www.banksy.co.uk/menu.html).
