What instruments do you play?
Piano, Hammond and Guitar.
What musical education did you take?
I get my first keyboard lessons when I was very young. I don’t know the exact age but I think I was about 6 years old. My uncle teaches me how to play my first chords. After that I took some lessons at “Elge- music schoolâ€. I think my main musical education is autodidact. When I was around 12 years old, my father teaches me my first guitar chords. Later Ben Stoffers gave me some lessons. Between august '06 and may '08 I was studying at the Friesland College the study “Pop and Media†where I’m was at the musicians department. I also had instrument lessons here.
Bands I play(ed) with.
I have had a lot of other bands and projects, from metal to funk to pop to covers. Some of my bands and old bands are: Backyard, "Chicago" Mike Beck, Kristin Shey, So What, City Light, Salvador, Blue Aura and Feromoons.
What are you doing now?
I'm looking for a new band and I'm starting a new project to play my own songs. I make tunes for a radio station and do session work. I'm also giving piano and guitar lessons.
What music did you listen to when you were:
5 years: To all the music my parents listened to. My favourite CD was Stevie Ray Vaughan with his Souls to Soul, with the pretty tough cover with the Cowboy and the big guitar.
10 years:
I’m afraid I have to answer Spice Girl and Backstreet Boys. I also listened to Queen a lot but I couldn’t share this music with my friends.
15 years:
Anouk! I think the best Dutch Rock diva ever. I especially loved the first two albums. My family introduced me this period into the Beatles, Led Zeppelin and other classic Rock bands.
Now:
I listen to a lot of different music. I still love the Beatles, Bob Dylan, Jimi, Queen, SRV, but I also like to listen to bands like Steely Dan, Diana Krall, Norah Jones and Amy Winehouse. I think there will be a rock part in me for the rest of my live. I really love Black Crowes, Nirvana, Etc.
