About Me
Badia defined means “original creation,†which is exactly what she is. Also known affectionately as "Lady Rose," she was born in Newark, NJ, A.K.A "The Brick City" and began singing at the age of 2. At the age of 4, she began formal dance lessons. As she grew older, still continuing singing and dance lessons, she began creating her own style. Badia eventually got her B.A degree in Communications emphasizing TV and Radio from Kean University, NJ. While in college, she excelled in academics as well as extra-curricular activities. She was a member and choreographer of the Kean Dance Team in addition to having both her own college radio and television shows. While doing all of these things, she never stopped singing and acting in school productions. One of them being the greek tragedy “Medea.†During these years, Badia would travel every day to NYC making weekly rounds at all the well-known open mic shows. After graduation, Badia enrolled in the world renowned New York University’s Masters program for Music and the Performing Arts. Here, Badia was introduced to the world of Musical Theatre. Two years later, she graduated from NYU with a Masters degree in Musical Performance, and has been blessed to be able to make a living off her talents. She continues to perform in numerous Broadway shows/tours including Lincoln Centers tribute to Alan Menken, Sister Act the Musical, Little Shop of Horrors, Rent, and Dreamgirls to name a few. She travels the world performing in countries like Tokyo, Japan. She lends her talents as a background singer for quite a few major recording artists, as well as writing and producing her own music. Badia is a member of AEA, and ASCAP in addition to publishing her music/lyrics under her own publishing company Farha’s Tune.Her music and style have been described as a cornucopia of intrinsic styles, melodic vocals, and radiant energy. “Badia Farha is a growing sensation. She fuses jazz, R&B, funk, rock and soul. She was selected as one of the top ten fresh new artists, chosen by New York’s own CD 101.9 radio station. Her music touches the hearts of the young and old.
