Reverend Kevin Andre Brooks, a highly passionate and successful minister, educator, entrepreneur and activist, is sought after for his ability to inspire individuals, organizations, and communities towards action. A public servant and transformational leader, Kevin has been involved in public service for twenty years as a U.S. soldier, congressional legislative assistant, teacher, public administrator, school principal and entrepreneur.Reverend Brooks is a gifted preacher ordained in the African Methodist Episcopal Church where he has served and trained for public ministry under the watchful eye and apostolic leadership of Rev. Jamal-Harrison Bryant and the Empowerment Temple Congregation. His mission is to help people maximize their human potential.In 2007, Kevin embarked on the awesome task of full time service as Pastor and founder of Freedom City-Temple Worship Center in Baltimore, Maryland. The Freedom Center opened its doors for worship on Christmas to celebrate the birth of Christ and commemorate the one year anniversary of the death of his mother, Connie Brooks. The sermon series Don’t Die This Winter is his first prophetic revelation of God’s plan for the people of Baltimore.Rev. Brooks, a community and political activist, received local media attention for his work on community development for directly confronting the social ills in his neighborhood. As Executive Director Freedom CDC, Rev. Brooks led an economic empowerment initiative by partnering with leaders in business, non-profit organizations, and governmental agencies to spark economic change in underserved Baltimore communities. This initiative led to Kevin campaigning to represent his district in the Maryland General Assembly were he received 32% of the vote in an unsuccessful bid for State Senate in his first run for office. The campaign slogan, “If not You, then Who” resonated across the city and inspired hundreds of citizens to get involved in the political process while preaching the Gospel of individual responsibility and collective accountability.Rev. Brook’s message of uplift is nothing new. An expert on urban educational leadership and specialist on character development he has presented to numerous youth service organizations. He is a well respected educator known for his ability to engage youth and motivate teachers towards academic achievement with over 16 years as a teacher and principal in Maryland. A youth advocate, lifestyles coach and educational consultant, Kevin has traveled extensively delivering empowering presentations on personal achievement, organizational improvement and community development.
