Ruth N. Goolsby, born June 3, 1977 in St. Louis, MO, is one of Gospel Music's most prized up and coming hidden treasures. Behind the scenes, this woman of God has been personally linked to many of today's top artists either through singing background, writing, playing, or whatever capacity she has allowed Christ to use her in. In 2001, Ruth was appointed by Professor Iris Stevenson, former President of the Church Of God In Christ Music Department, as the Musicians Coordinator for the International COGIC Youth Choir under the excellent directorship of Evangelist Jacky Clark-Chisholm. Since then she has been faithfully serving and even presenting original music that has drawn rave reviews nationwide. Ruth has been singing with her mother since the age of 5 around the city of St. Louis and hasn't stopped singing since. In 1991, the Lord, as it seems almost instantly, anointed Ruth to play the organ at her home church in St. Louis, Gospel Temple Church Of God In Christ. The present musician had just left and the Pastor knew that Ruth had an interest in playing so he told her to get on the organ and sit there until something happens. Out of obedience, Ruth sat there and within about 5 months, she was playing as if she'd been playing for twenty years. God has truly laid His hand of blessings on this young woman and this is only the tip of what God has in store for her. Currently, Ruth is writing and producing several tracks for artists around the country and coming up in 2009, she will be featured as a writer on Carnel Davis and Incorporated to Praise's first CD release, along with other major recordings throughout the upcoming year. Also right now, Ruth is working on a solo project, but not exactly the way normal solo projects would go. Every musical dream Ruth has ever brought before God has come to pass. "There is nothing that I have asked God to do for me musically that he hasn't and I thank Him daily!" One of Ruth's major dreams and visions for her music career is to release a compilation CD with all of her favorite singers, groups, and choirs, singing the original songs God has birthed in her.
