What up everybody, and welcome! My name is Alex, and I created this page to share my interest in hip-hop culture. For those who don't know how it all started, hip-hop is an art form that includes breakdancing, DJing, MCing and grafitti as the 4 key elements that originated in the South Bronx section of New York in the mid 1970s through the black and latino community. Hip-hop became the ultimate form of expression among urban youth, of what they see and the way they live every day in their neighborhoods. Hip-hop goes beyond just beats & rhymes... it also involves the way you look, dress, walk, talk, and act. Over the years, hip-hop has gotten worldwide exposure, and has progressed into different sounds and different avenues. It has experimented with alot of different styles of music, and many people have brought different changes over time with hip-hop. However, this page focuses more on the oldschool 90s era, and the people who created a powerful force in the world of hip-hop. This time period spawned a large percentage of the best hip-hop albums to date, and a number of generally recognized classics. There were also many less known and more obscure artists who made tracks and albums that are just as dope. So let's take a look back, at hip-hop the way it was!
