Helena Villalobos was born in Maracay, Venezuela

At the age of 7, She studied cuatro with el Maestro Miguel Bracho. At the age of 8, she won first prize as singing and playing cuatro. Until age 12 she studied Arte Infantil in the Rafael Monasterios Artes Plasticas in Maracay.

At the age of 13, She began studies at the art school in Rafael Monasterios Artes Plasticas in Maracay. At the age of 14, she entered the Cristobal Rojas Escuela de Artes Plasticas in Caracas. She graduated with the diploma Artes Plasticas Promocion Jesus Soto in 1972. She worked as an art teacher in the Instituto de Orientacion Integral with Delfina Guerra Muñioz (musicologist and pedagogue) and Elisabeth Pepper (pedagogue and psychologist).

In 1975 she studied Sciences es Lettres at the Sorbonne University in Paris, France. She studied with professors: Michael Jurniac (Performance artist) Georges Charbonnier (Prof. for Art Etnic), Prof. Jean Perán, Prof. Frank Popper, Prof. Francoise Molnar and many others. She graduated with the diploma License Sciences es Lettres in Paris, France 1978.

From 1979-83 she worked in Maracay, Venezuela as an art teacher, performance artist and director of the Salon de Arte Corpoindustria. Here she worked with Prof. Antonieta Sosa (performance artist).

In 1984 she studied at the Visual Arts Department of UCSD, California, USA under professor Eleanor Antin and the artist Allan Kaprow. She recieved a prize for her performance La Corrida in 1986 at Mandeville Gallery at UCSD. In 1987, she graduated with a Master's Degree in Performance Art. Here, she performed at the Sushi Gallery in San Diego: "Metamorphosis", a word game using Spanish and English for the future integration of the Spanish language in the US. Here she also performed with Eleanor Antin, Allan Kaprow, Greg Walker, Aida Mancillas, Burnie Smith, and many other top American artists.

In 1988 she moved to Heidelberg, Germany. Here, she initiated the Latin, Afro-American Theater and later moved to Cologne in 1991. Here, she gave performances in Duesseldorf, Bonn, Düren, Bielefeld, Cologne, Karlsruhe, Berlin and Busan, South Korea. Currently, she produces many musical pieces with her partner, the composer/bassist, Prof. Dave King.
