I was born in Chattanooga, Tennessee and moved to Atlanta with my family when I was 12. I started singing in the church choir (led by my mom Jonetta Patton) when I was six years old. When I was 14 I was spotted at a talent show by a record exec. from LaFace Records. Eventually the company signed me while I was still in high school. In 1994 I released my first album, Usher, which was executive produced by P. Diddy. It wasn't long until Coca-Cola came knocking a year later and snagged me to do a jingle for the holidays. I also teamed up with R&B singer Monica on her album for a remake of Let's Straighten It Out. After graduating high school in 1997, I released My second album titled My Way. In 1998 Janet Jackson grabbed me as an opening act for her Velvet Rope Tour. In August 2001, I released the album 8701. This album had more of a hip-hop feel and the R&B's was a little edgier. In March 2004, I released my album, Confessions. The album has sold more than 2.8 million copies since its debut and the feature single off the disc, Yeah!, has been tearing up the airwaves for months. Keep your ears open, cuz you're gonna be hearing a lot more from my upcoming R&B disc! My only interest isn't singing. I have also tried my hand at acting with some pretty neat flicks. I has appeared in The Faculty and Light It Up, as well as the cowboy movie Texas Rangers with my man Ashton Kutcher, and the broadway titled Chicago.Ok so now we at my prent life I just realeased my latest album "Here I Stand" so far the album is doing great. Since the album came out 3 weeks ago it has been in the top 3 on the billboards.
