Influences: "Strange Ride" fully describes and supports its namesake - as Morrowbie Jukes creates an eclectic ensemble of songs that pay homage to the wide range of musical acts that have influenced him throughout his years. Rock n' Roll acts from Buddy Holly and Chet Atkins to Cream and Led Zeppelin to The Police and Dave Matthews with many in between. Such innovators in song arrangement and melody making - Paul Simon, Van Morrison, Yes, String Cheese Incident, Ben Harper, and John Mayer. Intertwining these new and old classics are sing-along greats from Cat Stevens to John Denver to Jack Johnson that border on Folk with the likeness of Woody Guthrie, Ellis Paul, to the up and coming Ray Lamontagne. This "Ride"continues by crossing over to the Country genres and into crusading legends such as Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings, Hank Williams to the modern era of Garth Brooks, Kenny Chesney, and Alan Jackson. This undoubtley takes us to the beginning, where we find the birth in Blues with highlights from Robert Johnson, B.B.King, Buddy Guy, and Johnny Lee Hooker. Being from St. Louis, Miles Davis with his Jazz stylings was paramount along with Louis Armstrong. All these and more have helped, in small or large, to contribute to the sound that is, Morrowbie Jukes, and to more overall understand, appreciate, and create everyone's passion-MUSIC
Sounds Like: The music of Morrowbie Jukes is unique unto itself - as it utilizes all of the genres throughout the gamut of music within in each song. Morrowbie's sound excels in highlighting his technical ability on the guitar - and with his creative musical arrangements manages to package a suspense-filled journey throughout every turn in a tune which is only enhanced by his strong passionate vocals. Morrowbie makes the "Pop" song credible with the combination of the aforementioned and as reward, attracts technical music conniseurs, professional musicians, singers and songwriters as well as the casual listener and pop fan. The music is perhpas likened to: Dave Matthews, John Mayer, Ben Harper, Ray LaMontagne - however, like these musicians every musician takes his/her own road and therefore, creates music that expresses themselves uniquely.
